Default Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Alternate thread title: From Dead to Gold

So it's Igarashi's new game, and it's already been funded on Kickstarter. ETA: March 2017 (yikes!)

But look at this stuff:

Buer! Decarabia! Some other thing that could be Vine or Orias or Valac or something. Those Goetia demons titles swordorwhip.com was handing out weren't just for show.

I get home and it's already backed. Oh well, I plunked down for a physical copy. I don't have a ps4 or xbone, but I'll either have one or a decent PC by then, I hope.

Michiru Yamane being on board is fantastic.

First stretch goal just reached. It just upgrades the art book to hardcover, but it's still a good sign of rapid funding.

Even if I'm not contributing, it's still fun to follow along with the campaign's progress.

Imma back this at some point. I hit the reminder button as I'm at work and didn't want to put in my CC number here.

The A/B on the hud mockup makes it seem like they are planning to be able to swap between equipment sets on the fly, like Bayonetta/Ecclesia. I approve.

I think kickstarter only does Amazon for non-US projects. For US projects, they take the credit card themselves.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to move forward, back, and when the level path splits, up or down as needed.

March 2017, huh? Well I guess that's plenty of time to get a non-garbage computer, or decide which of the two new HD boxes has more of the exclusives I actually give a shit about on it.

But for now I'm gonna focus on expanding my Wii U and 3DS libraries, get the odd 360 game here and there, and maybe finally buy a PS3 sometime around Decemberween since it has all the interesting exclusives and ports and remakes of games I actually care about that the PS4 doesn't.

At first I thought Miriam just looked like !Shanoa.

Then I realized she's really more of a hybrid Shanoa/Soma from the description.

But then I realized that Shanoa was pretty much just !Soma to begin with (to be fair, not counting the second game / HD where Soma had to to terrible soul grinding to get the max of each).

After finals this wednesday, I'll put in my contribution.

$850,000 Voice Acting: David Hayter

Don't know what to make of that. A dig at Kojima or Konami or simply people like David Hayter?

I felt much the same away about Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. Also, the stream is highlighting other games that take their inspiration from the model, which is cool.

I might try Shadow Complex before Orson Scott Card dies after all.

Despite not having spent over $10 on a PC game in years*, I would have backed in a heartbeat at $15 and with a little reluctance at $20. I say this knowing that $28 is still a great price for the game, but I can't justify paying for a product that I don't get to touch for over a year. If my finances were better, I'd probably have backed this already.

*I have paid more than $10 on console games in that timespan, but in those cases, I had a gift card. I think the last game for which I shelled out more than ten out-of-pocket dollars was Final Fantasy XIII.

I heard IGA played Don't Shit Your Pants on the stream. I want to see that, because I thought Don't Shit Your Pants was a work of genius.

$800,000 reached. So they a Nightmare Difficulty Level, and they also have the second player character from the $700,000 stretch goal.

I'm guessing once they reach $850,000, they'll reveal more stretch goals with subterranean imagery? Would that be what the Nintendo answer alludes to?

I haven't been watching the whole day, so I didn't see that, but when they finished playing Rogue Legacy, they told Iga that the previous game from those developers was called Don't Shit Your Pants, and his reaction was pretty great.

KI: All I can say right now is that after over a year of talking with just about every publisher out there, I was able to secure funding for about 90 percent of the game with the condition that I prove the market still wants an Igavania game. Kickstarter proved to be a great solution, as it would (hopefully) show that people still want an Igavania game while simultaneously providing funds for the core game.

Eugh, yeah. Everything seems like it's priced a tier too high; that physical copy is so tempting, as is the deluxe version, but I really can't justify shelling out $60 or $100 (respectively) for them. I think I'll still back it, because I said to myself before the formal announcement that $30-40 would be my absolute top limit I'd spend on this, but... I'm going to grumble about it a bit, maybe take a few days to do it.

I'm only going to say this since Mogri specifically mentioned people with "tighter wallets", but not having lower price points just means these people "miss out" on the chance to bear investment risk. Honestly, they might be better off that way. The upside in backing any video game kickstarter at the basic tier is relatively low, so it only makes sense when spending that money isn't remotely significant.
