Those are both gorgeous, Regulus! Also continuing to dig all of Drac's Pokedudes.

Today's word was flowing, a term that immediately brings to mind images of serene babbling brooks, gently snaking their way through lush, verdant forests.

So of course I drew the dude on the cover of RED GONE WILD: THEE ALBUM instead.

Then I suddenly remembered that I'd seen actual artists who actually art talk about a process called "inking". a difficult and taxing task in which the original rough sketch is elevated to it's final form, as the details to to be kept are immortalized via irreversible strokes of the pen.

So I scribbled all over my doodle with a sharpie.

I thought the smudges my sharpie left on the next page of my Steno Pad looked like the vauge shape of a wolf.

But like, a COOL wolf!

The COOLEST wolf!

So fuckin Cool.

Will have stuff tomorrow. Between being sick and super busy when I got back to work, haven't had much energy.

Is that the basic Shinra beam guard in that last one Regulus? Those're one of my favorite bits of enemy design in a game ever, that makes me so happy.

I think it’s an Arcadian from Megaman Zero.

Though they do look pretty same-y

Yeah, it's an Arcadian Pantheon from MMZ. That spot in the drawing was occupied by a Zaku and a Shinra Grunt at different points during the sketching process, though. The Prinny also used to be an Imp/Goblin from the early Final Fantasy games before I settled on a Prinny.

Heh, I was waffling on whether or not it was, but I was so happy either way I had to ask.

I clicked this thread thinking it was going to be about tattoos.

YOU HAVE FAILED ME AGAIN.

(Nice work! Ink is a super-fun medium.

I wish I had the impetus to get back into art. Le sigh.)

Doing nothing but Pokemon was such a great idea. There probably aren't very many prompt words that there isn't an appropriate 'mon for.

Here are the last three days for me:

Unprompted

"Bottle"

I'm doing it, it's all over on Twitter @Stupacabra, it's all MS Paint and so far it's been really unpleasant.

Hey can someone tell me the difference between TRACING and DRAWING FROM A REFERENCE? Because I'm honestly not sure which this counts as.

Tracing and drawing from a reference are not really the same thing. Drawing from a reference is an excellent way to improve as an artist, because it helps develop an understanding of spatial relationship and proportion. There's a reason that figure drawing courses use models.

Tracing isn't useless from an educational perspective, but I feel that simply copying the contour of an object without any of the context tends to be less useful. You can do things like 'tracing' the anatomy beneath a person's clothes, though, which is actually pretty great for practicing anatomy and learning how clothing falls on a body.

Now, you shouldn't really use either for something that you intend to profit off of, nor should you pass the work off as wholly your own, but there's nothing wrong with reference drawing or tracing for personal growth for something like Inktober.

Ok so what I did was def TRACING then.
It's cool tho as I've said repeatedly I don't actually know how to draw and have no intention of learning.

Heh, sorry, forgot to clarify. No, I wouldn't consider it tracing, any more than I'd consider someone in a life drawing class drawing their subject tracing. Tracing is copying an image directly, usually by overlaying your paper (or graphics layer) over another image. Art reference is broader, but includes copying by eyeballing the original image.

Default AMERICAN KIRBY'S ANGRY EYEBROWS IS MY VERY FAVORITE STUPID LOCALIZATION THING.

Today I felt like drawing Kirby!

Yep, Good ol' Kirby, beloved family-friendly Nintendo character supreme! Immediately recognizable not only by his adorable round body and stumpy little limbs, but also by his cheerful smile and HATEFUL SOUL-PIERCING GLARE OF LIMITLESS FURY. Good old Kir...by.

WAIT SHIT.

I FUCKED UP.

I FUCKED UP BAD.

I CAN'T LET THIS STAND.

I HAVE TO FIX THIS!

Phew! Disaster averted!

Last edited by BEAT; 10-24-2018 at 02:22 PM. Reason: IT'S SO STUPID AND DUMB AND POINTLESS AND INCONSEQUENTIAL AND *WONDERFUL*. I AM SADDENED EVERY TIME I SEE A KIRBY GAME COVER WHERE THE LIL GUY ISN'T MEGA PISSED OFF.

I don't draw people flipping the bird all that often, but it seemed appropriate there. Glad you appreciate it, haha.

Here are the last 4 days I've done:

Drain

Greed

Muddy

Chop

We're in the home stretch, now! I'm such a lazy artist that I didn't think I'd be able to keep it up this far. Maybe I'll actually keep doing art afterward...
