Larry is just completely insufferable and I'm already hoping that there's a future episode where somebody throws a brick at him.
If you can make it 9 seasons, a mail carrier basically grants your wish a few episodes in!

Larry is George, not Jerry, the show doesn’t typically reward his horrible behavior.

I love Curb and kind of hate Seinfeld, to be honest. The show feels like the pure essence of Seinfeld, cutting the bullshit and laying all of its cards on the table. I'd give it more time to gel or jump ahead a bit, though — Curb's first season is pretty bad.

I picked up on that; the George radiates off him in a thundercloud formation

This week we watched season 1 of Nirvanna the Band the Show, a Viceland Canada exclusive that is available for purchase on Amazon. It's great! They're really willing to commit to dumb jokes, and incorporate random passers-by in a less mean-spirited way than Nathan for You (not that NfY is mean-spirited per se, but there are a lot of episodes, like the finale, that make me a little uncomfortable with the pressure they're putting on Nathan's guests.)

There's no free preview of the show, but this video from their webseries days and this outtake from season 1 are both pretty relevant to forum interests.

Turns out the Mad Men/Breaking Bad-themed promo images for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's third season were p. relevant

I was watching through 30 Rock, because I'd seen seasons 1-3 but been curious about the rest. I was already getting bored of the "Liz trying to find a man" and "Jack can't decide between women" subplots. Then the season 5 premiere included a 'joke' about Pete raping his wife while she's asleep, including not one but two cutaways to visualize it.

Yeah, no thanks.

Difficult People is the right kind of show about total douchebags. I think what makes it work is that the leads are super upbeat and exuberant about their lack of tact. And James Urbaniak never hurts. Too bad it just got cancelled.

The Confession Tapes is maybe the most genuinely upsetting tv show I've ever seen.

This really is a great and hilarious show. Very sad that it's cancelled.

Loved all of the NPR vs PBS subplots with Urbaniac.

I liked it, but I wasn’t expecting another season and its finale seemed pretty.... final.

AHS had a very topical finale/season. I liked it a lot. I’m not sure I can tell the difference between any non-best (non-Asylum) season of AHS.

The Mick had a great episode last night.

I watched the first episode of Difficult People and did not see the appeal at all. I tend to like shows about insufferable people, so I dunno what that's about.

Billy Eichner is definitely an acquired taste that some people do not acquire.

I liked him in this a lot, but have never enjoyed Billy on the Street. He was also on AHS this season. He was... fine! Like the season.

I’ve also been a fan of Julie Klausner for years.

Lady Dynamite season 2 is wonderful.

“Look, Maria, you’re great. And now that Mira Sorvino has passed on the role of Miss Prudence Middle-Aged Lady Litigatrix, we’re huge fans of your reel.”

Attention!!

Hackers have hacked Grey’s Anatomy and are demanding thousands of bitcoin. This is not a drill. As far as I know. (I paused the episode to post before finishing it to let you all know ASAP)

I’ve watched every episode and this may be the funniest/squarest disaster.

Bitcoin is twice as valuable now as it was when this episode of Grey’s Anatomy was produced.

Invest in bitcoin.

The first episode has Maria's friends trying to catch a raccoon with "peanut butter titties" and the show somehow gets weirder from there. So damn weird. I love it.

Love a raccoon gag.

6 eps in and Search Party is a pitch perfect dark comedy.

I'm giving Lady Dynamite another shot. I watched the first episode back when it was new but it was too weird. Now I'm at episode 5 and it's still pretty goddamn weird but I'm also enjoying myself. How is this show so weird.

Wait until she gets bit by the acting bug, which looks like Jiminy Cricket, and then after she performs it tells her to murder her parents.

Maria Bamford’s old web series was fantastic and probably still on youtube. (it is) Lot of callbacks(?)/jokes important to Maria in Lady Dynamite. Maybe you won’t like it; which is fine~

Search Party season one is disappearing from TBS’s streaming service tomorrow...? Start binging immediately.

Mike and I were losing it over the "Hamptons Water Magic" episode. It was a pretty accurate depiction of the area :P

I don’t want to say for certain that Mr. Show is the greatest possible sketch comedy, because both Key & Peele and Kids in the Hall exist but... well... I am presently watching one of those and not the others. So it wins the day by default.

I mean, you're Canadian so no SCTV or Red Green in that consideration?

That is correct.

SCTV had its moments but the low production values make a lot of the jokes fall flat, and Red Green I was never really able to understand the appeal of.

Yeah, Mr. Show is the source of about 50% of my friend group's in-jokes. I liked their "With Bob & David" Netflix special too.

Pre-Taped Call-In Show, Intervention-Intervention and The Devastator might be the highest points in the comedy art form.
