Dang, guess we need to plan damage now.

Assuming Lucas and jp give me their reds, I'll Unleash with them.

Maybe have the Paladin take the 2 damage hit and the Warrior take the 3 damage hit?

Sounds like a good plan. Steel or rebuke will do the same damage mitigation since he is hitting twice so may as well keep with my Rebuke plan after trading my R4 for turtleís Y2

Warrior uses Unleash
Bard uses Inspire (Y5)
Paladin uses Rebuke

The Cyclops takes 6 damage, then it hits the Paladin for 2 and the Warrior for 3.

Cyclops - 9/12


Action card: G5 (Sweep)


Warrior (turtle) - 4/8
Unleash (R? R?): 3 damage. Discard all cards stored on the Warrior. Increase this attack's damage by 3 for each card discarded this way.
Enrage (Any): 2 damage. Increase this attack's damage by 1 if the card's rank is 4 or 5. You may store the card on the Warrior.



Mage (Gerad) - 1/4
Magic Missile (P? P?): 3 damage to 2 targets.
Mind Probe (Any): 1 damage. If an enemy is damaged this way, peek at the top card of the Encounter Deck. You may place it on the bottom of the Encounter Deck.



Bard (Lucas) - 1/5
Minor Heal (B? G? Y?): Remove 2 damage from one hero.
Inspire (Any): Store the card on the Bard. At the end of the next Draw Phase, add the stored card to your hand.



Paladin (jpfriction) - 3/7
Rebuke (B? Y?): 2 damage. An enemy damaged by Rebuke deals 1 less damage on each attack this round.

The Cyclops is at 10 damage, isn't it? Started this round at 4, took 5 from Unleash, then 1 from Rebuke?

Probably just let him magic missle the cyclops out of our hair, assuming turtle is right about the damage? I can use rebuke again if turtle hands me that yellow.

yeah, in the end whether it's 9 or 10 damage doesn't really matter, but i would like an answer.

Yeah, you're right. I posted this from a different computer, so my bookkeeping was off.

As you've discovered, you don't need to discard to finish this, even with Minor Heal. Choose who's getting healed and how you'll use the spoils, and we can bypass the formality of how you're coming up with two damage.

So let's see, our options are
  • Teach Fireball to Gerad.
  • Heal 3 damage from someone.
  • Increase someone's max damage by 2.
  • Add a second P3 to our Hero Deck.

Of those, I'm most inclined to suggest either Fireball or Max HP +2 on someone (psst, pick the mage), but what do y'all think?

I'll Minor Heal the paladin because I assume he'll tanking a lot of hits for us over time. I'll second bumping the mage's HP; I'll have more people to hide behind that way.

Iím always in favor of teaching dangerous spells to wizards I barely know, but bumping his HP sounds like a fine idea, letís do that.

Mogri, what is the significance of the card youíve been linking as the enemy action card? The one on that link is green, not yellow, right?

The rank he uses to Enrage doesn't matter because he's just getting rid of the golem's armor. Pass me the yellow and I might be able to heal... wait, both JP and the monster have a Y5 this round. I thought there was only one of each color/rank combo?

Yeah, I linked the wrong card. The significance is that you're cycling through the Encounter Deck; you won't see those cards as encounters this loop.

That's true of the starting Hero Deck, but the Encounter Deck has an additional 2-5 of each color. The Stone Golem is G3, for example, and if you had added the Cyclops to the Hero Deck, you'd have two P3s in the Hero Deck at this point.

Ok, the part I missed is that the monster's card comes from the encounter deck, not the hero deck. Not having the cards in front of me is making it hard for me to grok some of the rules.

Anyway,

Discard the red card and if Gerad passes me his green or I draw a green from the deck I'll minor heal the warrior.

Comment from the peanut gallery here, but looking at the instructions, it doesn't seem clearly stated that Magic Missile can't target the same enemy with both attacks.

Edit: also, I could see a reading where 3 damage would be spread among 2 targets. There does seem plenty of space on the Mage card to clearly state the intended effect, whichever it is.
