So the men's rumble is early and the women apparently are going to be the main. That's awesome for the women but it makes me really nervous about what the result will be.

Braun and Brock stiffing the hell out of each other was entertaining!

So was the revelation that Kane only shaves the part of his chest he thinks won't be covered by his tights.

The women's Rumble started slow enough that I was worried, but it ended up being really entertaining! Naomi-as-Kofi was great.

Asuka/KANA has numerous photos of her in Third Reich ring gear and Rousey did at least one Sandy Hook trutherism interview. God's mercy on the PR flacks trying to keep those out of the outrage cycle.

I just remembered Ember Moon from last night. I had never seen or heard of her before, but she was fantastic in the Rumble and I’m pretty certain I like her a lot now.

Thought the rumble was a great even this year although I could've done without the raw tag match or that awful roode/mojo match from the pre-show.

I feel like Rollins has long overstayed his welcome at this point, not sure what they can do with him but he's in dire need of a reinvention.

I never followed the shield, but from a distance it sure looked like Roman Reigns was the sexy one, Dean Ambrose was the scummy one, and Seth Rollins was Drew Lachey.

So I was told this was a thing! I didn't know discussion moved! The latest NJPW Drama is great! It's like if they did the NWO Black/Red thing correctly. Golden Lovers Returns!

I get that they wanted to get Ronda Rousey onto the show, but she wasn't going to get into the Rumble, and she wasn't going to a damn thing, she should have at least kicked someone's ass. Just popping up and stealing the winner's thunder, pointing a big, and then walking away was ... kinda lame.

Otherwise, that was a great show. I think the crowd was pretty tired by the end of it like usual with these super PPVs, though. Really don't need three pre-show matches with a four hour long event. And I still think the February PPV should be the women's rumble so you don't have two super long matches in the same event like that. it's too much to expect a crowd to have energy by the end.

Just popping in here to remind everyone that HBO Sports is releasing a documentary this April about Andre the Giant and it looks super good.

the promo for that was interesting when Hogan got some actual speaking time on WWE air for the first time since he was banned.

Yeah, that's a bit how I felt too although let's give Asuka the credit she deserves, no one's going to think she came out of that like a chump because Ronda showed up.

If anyone looked like a chump in that women's rumble it was Bayley, yikes...

less that she's a chump and just more, hey, let's give her her moment, okay? First EVER women's rumble winner, that should probably get some damn confetti or something, I think.

Also, all-Japan rumble winners! That's kind of cool.

One thing that sorta bothered me is that they are picking their matches with three months and two PPVs to go. Sort of takes the steam out of any title matches between now and then, huh? But man, Shin-AJ is going to fucking killer. Can't wait.

I don’t know how many of you follow the indies, but WrestleMania weekend brings about a whole bunch of indie companies running shows in the same area as Mania, and one of them, GCW, is running the second “Joey Janela’s Spring Break,” after one of its top wrestlers who is a weird mix of deathmatch and comedy, and is known for booking dream matches for himself. This year’s dream match? Junior heavyweight god THE GREAT SASUKE.

Look for the hype video for that match, too. It’s too good.

In fairness, Ronda's appearance is probably going to get a lot more eyes on Asuka's performance.

man, I dunno. Sasuke's skull has to be a fuckin late-stage Jenga puzzle at this point. I really don't think that sounds like a good idea.

You’ll be pleased/dismayed to know that Sasuke’s still doing apeshit stunts.

I don’t know if the Darth Vader bit was the same thing, but Sasuke falling in a barrel is from a Michinoku Pro tradition called the Great Space War, which is basically a combination of cosplay-heavy current events-made-wrestling comedy and Sasuke cheating death.
