Anything by Megadrive is pretty good. I especially like their 198XAD album. Also Quite Operational by Monomer is a good listen.

Cool, thanks! I'll check 'em out!

I've been listening to the Hotline Miami soundtracks for other leads.

Also also, Bourgeoisie is sounding pretty good and the album covers are rad:

Probably old hat, but I can't get Carpenter Brut - Le Perv out of my head. Man, that back half!

I've added more stuff to my investigation pile:
* Dan Terminus (what little I've heard of The Wrath of Code is sounding pretty cool)
* Kavinsky
* Dynatron
* Gunship
* Tommy '86
* John Carpenter's Lost Themes I and II (he's on tour right now no he's not; that was last year. Darn.)

Not exactly specifically music related but bicycle manufacturer Canyon appears to be working with Kraftwerk to make a really incredibly cool looking bike:

And I need it.

Yeah, it's definitely different. I need to give it a few more listens.

In the meantime, I'm kinda digging the straight-ahead sound of Vulta - Sigils.

Oh, one more little thing: Dance With The Dead + GosT NA tour is slated for Oct/Nov.

Holy fuck, the idea if going to a show by myself is terrifying but I might just do it for DWTD /AND/ Gost, my lord.

I know, right? I'm trying to decide whether to go to Chicago or St. Louis. The former is closer but the latter has family that might be interested.

Also, I just found out that Indy is indeed a stop on Perturbator's in-progress tour. I'm glad no one was near my desk because I got straight-up little-kid excited there for a second.

My listening time lately has been divided between this Rhys Fulber release:

Which is this great, classic-sounding EBM. Very berlin techno infused.

and this from Relapso:

Which is some really interesting cognitive techno.

Holy shit, there's a soundtrack album for The Mysterious Cities Of Gold. And it's so good!

Hearing some of these incidental tunes after 30 odd years is a real trip.

I went to see Perturbator last night and it was awesome. The acoustics weren't the greatest so some treble was lost, but that could have been a function of me wearing earplugs and standing in a poor spot. On the flip side, the acoustics made tracks from New Model especially cathartic and sternum rattling. (Now I'm even more pumped to see GosT and feel the nasty, chunky bass.)

The light/laser treatment was especially cool given the confines of the small space, to the degree that I'm now motivated to learn a lot more about concert lighting design.

Some crazy person by the name of Jerobeam Fenderson put together an album called Oscilloscope Music. It deserves to be watched with the music videos, because of the gimmick:

If you play the waveforms back as audio, you get the music. If you feed them into an oscilloscope, you get the video. They're not just synchronized, they're identical.

Here's track 5, "Spirals," recorded (as with the rest of the album) on an actual oscilloscope:

The two guys that created the Stranger Things soundtrack have a synthwave project called S U R V I V E. They have a remix EP coming out and Justin Broadrick (JK Flesh, Jesu, Godflesh, etc.) has a pretty snazzy remix on it and I'm really digging it.

The first video is from Sayonara Jupiter, for some reason. I can't speak to the provenance of the music, because I am not a 40-year-old French man, but it sounds like vintage Levy, and scans with a couple videos I watched.

Anyone in this thread like Fever Ray? Her new album is out. It's great. The first music video she released for it is extremely unsettling and strange though. That's not exactly surprising but jeez.

That is the original music from the show, yes. I think the French DVD came with a bonus soundtrack disc which is where those were sourced from.
