For any of you who want to try actually playing it, we're still looking for more! We've improved a lot since I wrote that; I even have a few wins under my belt now (2 each in duo and squad, IIRC).

I was drinking a hot beverage when listening to the Detective Jigsaw bit in the latest episode.

So I'm dead now.

I've started listening to Cool Games Inc.

After once again nearly choking to death on a steaming hot beverage, I've realized there's nothing in the world I want more to exist than Open Heart; The dating/competitive-surgery simulator.

I hadn't really been feeling Sweeps Week, but Todd Coolbody fucking broke me. I was laughing so hard I had to take a break from the video to come post this or I might have asphyxiated.

"Oh look, the McElroy thread has a new post. It better be Griffin eating the banana."

And lo, I was not disappointed.

I've been watching Polygon on Youtube like crazy lately, and it's funny how Polygon has gone from "That gaming website that the Player One Podcast inexplicably hates" to "The gaming website with the McElroy's" in my mind.

Well, it took three and a half months, but the endless backstory arc of TAZ is finally over. Only Took five episodes to get to the one that's actually relevant to the main plot!

Might have gotten a liiiiiittle sniffly once or twice

The first two episodes of the Finale are up and they are fantastic. Definitely give them a listen. At first, I wasn't really sold on the Lost Century, but by the end it was one of my favorite arcs, and it certainly gives this finale a lot more weight.

Also, props to Griffin for not only not burying the gays after accidentally doing it once but for also resurrecting all the gay people he already killed.

...except Kravitz, I guess. As he remains by definition the Most Dead anyone could be.

I really liked that Taaco learned how to make tacos from a latinx teen. They avoided rewriting history and having a white guy invent tacos. It's really clear that they're taking cultural criticism seriously and trying to improve.

I've sent links to a few yahoo answers I've found funny over the last couple weeks, but last night I sent in an advice question I dearly hope makes it onto an episode. If it does, you'll be able to tell almost exactly who it is

I mean

basically

I figure if anyone is going to help me deal with the terror of getting gored to death by a giant-mawed nintendo creature, it is the mcelroys, who have made a living on the idea of nintendo vore, glass sharks, and shower clowns

Um, so...is it appropriate to discuss what's going on with Nick Robinson in this thread? I only just heard about it all this morning and I'm bit stunned by it to be honest, but if people are not comfortable with it being brought up here I'm happy to take it elsewhere.

There was quite a bit of discussion about it over here if you want to pick up that thread.

There was a pretty lengthy discussion about it in the misogyny thread last week, FWIW, although I also don't see any harm in discussing it here. It... really sucks, and I understand the desire to talk about it, especially if you're just hearing about it now.

(EDIT: NINJA'D! *shakes fist*)

On that note, I'm betting that today's Awful Squad was your first time hearing about it? FYI, for people here who don't like watching PUBG, Griffin sort of hid a 5-minute state of the channel address at the start of that video. That being said, it was pretty light on information, since they're not allowed to talk about it. He mostly did his best to talk around it; he sounded pretty frustrated.

Oh, also, I don't recall anyone linking this, but Waypoint had a good discussion about the whole thing back after it went down. You can find that podcast here. It sort of sucks that Googling for information about Nick Robinson mostly turns up goobergrump trash sites/youtube rants. It'd be nice if there was more in the way of real discussion from legitimate outlets to stem the tide.

I've avoided the latest PUBG because I feel like the whole thing is tainted for me, but I'll check that out. I'll listen to the Waypoint thing too. Thanks for linking them.

I'm curious how they handle ongoing series - Car Boys is finished, and I imagine this is the end of Let's Go to Hell. I wouldn't be surprised if CoolGames Inc. and Touch the Skyrim continue in another form, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't, either.

Touch the Skyrim was already finishing up; they'd said that 5.x would be the last one. Probably only one or two episodes from the end anyway. I can't really imagine it finishing up like this. CGI yeah, or shutting that down and starting a similar podcast.

That's fine, I didn't want to drag it up here if it's already being covered, and I was a bit wary of doing so anyway given that this thread is generally geared towards more positive things

On the plus side, I did also read this article about Clint McElroy today, who just sounds like a super-cool guy in every respect.

Just look at these sweet nerdy boys!

Wow, Justin looks the exact same as he does now.

Wee Travis and L'il Griffy I can't tell from one another owing to a lack of beard.

Just leaves more time for Griffin to focus on what really matters.

I could completely see CGI continuing with a different co-host. Justin's the easy choice.
