Isabel coming up with cool battle techniques on the fly for her brand new, kinda dumb-seeming spirit weapon proves Zack Morrison's deep and thorough understanding of shonen manga.

Does anybody read "The Property of Hate"? And if so, thoughts?

I only wish that his deep and thorough understanding of shonen manga didn't also lead to him aping the pacing of shonen manga. I love Paranatural, but Zack can waste like 20 pages on a scene that unfolds over 10 seconds in-world and it drives me crazy.

Yeah, Paranatural's developed the same problem I've noticed in other webcomics, and some manga, where it starts focusing so much on subplots and supporting characters that after a while I start forgetting who the main characters even are. I'm basically down to Gunnerkrigg (laser-focused on Annie and Kat), Scary Go Round (multi-generational ensemble), and Kiwi Blitz (digressions don't last too long, and it actually seems to be coming to a climax) at this point.

It sucks because the first few chapters of Paranatural are so good.

This Hijack storyline has been going on since Dec. 22nd 2014. Dude needs to stop taking lessons from the Golden Sun writers.

Yeah, I stopped reading Paranatural about a year ago because the pacing was way too slow. I like the characters and the world, but it became clear that the story was never going to get anywhere interesting.

I guess it doesn't bother me because I don't read webcomics in the hopes that they'll end soon. (I am tired of Hijack, but that's because I think he's a boring character, not because of the storyline's length.)

I don't want it to end, I want it to be interesting. Back, Cucumber Quest, and K6BD have been running for a while, but they regularly introduce new settings and characters, start new story lines, etc. Paranatural feels like it's running in place.

Paranatural has been running for almost 7 years and I believe that, canonically, it has been three days since Max moved to Mayview. Like, I love the art and the humor, but get the story in fucking gear already.

I'm pretty sure that this "Waluigi Time" Brawl in the Family book is actually a real thing, people. He's been teasing it on his website for a while now and everything.

Devil's Candy is having a moment where a character is being diagnosed with an actual illness called sadtimes-mcmummyosis and it's the best.

I was just coming to post that exact same thing.

Incidentally, I love that it's mummies that are the monster that nobody can accept as being real.

You'd think they'd avoid obfuscation wrt "burning people's kickstarter books", but apparently being aloof is still more important than honesty. Just me? If that whole thing was a stunt it was a pretty ill-advised one...

Iím just waiting to see how much more Kazuís convictions can hold up to reality.

Also itís hilarious to see that Yaghie really is that stupid.

Kazu strikes me as the kind of guy whose fully aware that his convictions do not, at all, hold up to reality, but that doesn't stop him from trying to force reality to play ball.
