Default Jingle Beeps - Video game Christmas Carols

Did you look out of the window at falling snow and have the music to some ice level or another pop into your head?

This thread is to celebrate the soulful snow stage symphonies that always give a sense of peace, even as you slip off the edge to your doom.

I'll start it off slow and add a few a day, since I know when I'm presented with a huge list at once, my eyes just roll back into my head and I end up skipping all of them.

Earthbound's Winters
Whenever I see snow falling, I hear the sleigh bells from the beginning of this tune.

Mother's Snowman
A classic, somewhat haunting song.

DKC's sole ice level has an exciting yet gentle feel.

Feel free to add your favorites.

There's a part in Serious Sam when you go through some huge double doors, get to a beautiful white landscape ... And this music plays while you slaughter enemies.

JAZZ JACKRABBIT (by EPIC MEGAGAMES) had a Christmas-themed spin-off. I remember the music to that being pretty good.

While it isn't exactly what you're asking for, still, prepare to make all sorts of new videogame/Christmas associations (Youtube version).

This thread needs The 8 bits of Christmas. It's the second album on that page, above the Axel F remix album.

Dudes.

The Merry Code.

(Also, I've always associated the Walrus Cove music from Diddy Kong Racing with Christmas... This may be because I like that game more than it deserves.)

Whenever it snows with those big flakes, I always think (and often comment aloud) that it's Donkey Kong Country weather. The song that comes to mind is the one in the blizzard level (not the ice cave one), where the snow gradually builds up.

Super Mario Sleigh Ride by the 1ups and some other people.

Edit: Perhaps I should check the links more carefully before posting again. Sorry q 3!

It's been so long that I played this game that I forgot that there were snow levels. I only remembered the Ice cave since the music's so damn good.

So, I've got a few more for you today. You know, Mega Man didn't have as many Ice bosses as you may think:

Ice Man
Blizzard Man
Freeze Man
Chill Penguin
Crystal Snail (admittedly a stretch, but I think the music's icy).

Oh! My shame knows no bounds!

When Tomm listens to Christmas carols, he includes this in the playlist.

Brick gets down with some tunes from his famous LP's.

And everyone loves Kirby!

Phendrana Drifts, Metroid Prime. It embodies the "Snow Level Music" for me.

I may not have realized this if I weren't digging through all my NSF's files for ice music, but there's a small part of Phendrana Drifts that sounds remarkably similar to a part of Blaster Master's Ice area.

If you dig Ice Cap Zone, you should definitely check out That Freezing Feeling, from the OCRemix album Project Chaos.

I swear, OCRemix is full of great Christmas ones. And this one is actually from an ice level!

My lord...didn't we say there were a lot more good ice songs?

Not to throw off the mood or anything, because this isn't much of a Christmas carol, but most mornings in winter, especially the ones where I can see the ice through our apartment window, I think of this.

Enchanted Kingdom from Kameo is really great for that snowy, Christmasy feeling. In general, Kameo's more ethereal tracks are great mood setters for the season, even though they stray by the mystical/fantasy moods, but because of that, they also keep away from the overused season jingles/themes.

You know, that was the first game to come to mind when I saw this thread, and I really didn't think anyone else would mention it. Props.

It has quite a few different tunes all over the snow-themed world, but this one is my favourite, if not exactly the one that screams "Christmas" the most.

Edit: Now, this one? Totally Christmas.

Garden Gnome Carnage has Christmassy music on account of being a Christmassy game. Granted, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but hey, don't ask why, ask "why not?"
