Nah, waterpot, what he's saying is that he's taking the VGcats approach: monetize everything.

How else could he justify charging a fee for his Moebius tribute wallpaper?

thats the thing, how can fans tolerate his slow schedule, when he is losing time doing those x-men/jla re-designs.

Speaking of, Achewood certainly used to be a fun comic that was ongoing and wasn't over.

Sighhh

Apparently it's because they got side-lined with a bunch of IRL paying art gigs.

Also, GUYS

Starslip has officially ended. A single tear rolls slowly downwards across the curve of my cheek. Just over seven years, dang, that's pretty much the entirety of my twenties, there.

Yeah. I've been following Starslip since I was in high school and it feels weird taking it out of my bookmarks after following it for so long. It's really sad to see it go, but I have a lot of respect for him ending it on a high note (and, more importantly, on his own terms) like he did.

Well, I'm sure in a lot of cases it just comes down to free time. I know Der-Shing started working as an artist for a game developer a while back, and I'm sure that's helped rob her of any free time she could put into The Meek.

I'm sure a lot of people here know what it's like to have to put creative projects on hold while you deal with the real world.

Hahaha oh god do I EVER. I'd hoped to launch my own upcoming webcomic earlier this year, but here we are in mid-June and I'm still not close to starting. Because real life is a bitch. I got a FT job and it's sapped me of time, drive, everything, to the detriment of my art.

Yep.

The only thing that annoys me is when people don't take a few moments to tell their readers what's going on. Most people will understand if you just say, "Hey, I can't really update, I have another job keeping me busy." If they're worthwhile human beings, then they should be happy an artist they like has work!

But it seems too few people bother to do that, so it can be frustrating.

its worse if you follow their twitter and facebook and learn that they play games/watch tv/internet trolling instead of doing comics
( of course only apply if making comics is your main job, a lot of the 90´s image comics didnt have long runs because the artists were addicted to videogames)

I heard from pro comic book artist that they dont have the time to play videogames or watch latest new series because they must keep thei schedule

it seems that Scott Kurtz got into a fight with comic press creator(frumph) and
a lot of comicpress users, then made peace with them...

@Frumph @ChrisHanel just because I think comicpress is a bit played out for webcomics doesn’t mean I was shitting on your efforts.

Scott Kurtz ‏@pvponline

@Frumph Man you are shot out of a cannon today. What is your fucking problem?

@tombrazelton @Frumph @ChrisHanel I think Wordpress is flaky. I think all comicpress webcomic sites look the same.

In a couple hours I will be streaming and will talk more about this CP/EE thing in detail. And welcome discussion.

@Frumph "I just feel that Wordpress/comicpress is no longer a viable option for being noticed as a webcomic."

@Frumph That being said, I think CP is a viable option for getting a webcomic site up cheap that looks like every other webcomic site.

Open Letter to Scott Kurtz: it doesn't matter if your comic's site looks like all the others, because people aren't coming to your site to marvel at the design of it.

THAT SAID, a refresh probably wouldn't hoit! (waggles ceegar)

I saw an ad for Chu's webcomic, Slightly Damned, on Cucumber Quest's website today. That's pretty cool!

I giggled at this but then I started thinking about the kinds of cultural assumptions inherent in regarding a super-powerful human as only being useful as a crimefighter/Hitlerpuncher.

I've read a lot of stories where that happens and every single one ended poorly.

Were they Elseworlds/"What If" type stories? Because those exist to facilitate bad ends.

Unless it was the Civil War What If?, where the Watcher shows Tony that if he had quit being a dick, everything would have turned out great.

Not sure on whether or not Justice is canon, but the New World Order arc of JLA was.

Though, in fairness, the Hyperclan did end up being super villains trying to usurp control of the Earth.

As someone who's still in his first couple of years, hating your output for a really long time is just part of arting.

Just remember that, for new readers, your recent and best stuff will be their first impression before they see the older and worse stuff, and that watching an artist grow through their archive can be a lot of fun.

I'll also throw in my two cents that I enjoy Pilli Adventure, and would totally read any comic you decided to do after it.

Gimme a few months and you shall have your space comic. Though it'll be more fantasy than scifi.

I dunno if it's really what you're looking for, but I like Commander Kitty. It's the best Saturday Morning Cartoon that never was.

I also really like TUNE, but it's more Slaughterhouse Five than "space".
