The "Summer of Steven" is still coming. No date is known, but it is expected to be soon. It could begin this month.

The French leak included one episode past "Hit the Diamond." The title is "Steven Floats." I have seen it. It is good.

Hard to say at this point. Though I don't think anyone aside from the Crystal Gems know about it Jasper did fuse with Lapis and fusion between different Gem-types is frowned upon. We don't know how frowned upon though. Still, probably not, since if they ain't looking to Peridot for what she did, seems like it wouldn't be worth bothering Jasper for a fusion, even if they did know about it. Still, it could be a big crime considering how powerful she became.

So, regarding "Hit the Diamond" -

The five Rubies were credited with different names to distinguish them. They are Leggy, Army, Navy, Doc, and Eyeball (the first and last one seen). For four of them their names come from where the gem is embedded in the body, but I can't figure out Doc, whose gem is in the center of her chest.

Eyeball was not fooled for a moment and was playing along the entire time. It is known. But her motives, and whether they align with their mission, are not.

I can't imagine they have anything good planned for Jasper. That little ship doesn't look like it has enough room for a full-grown quartz, not if it's already got five rubies in it. But if Eyeball is reluctant to confront her, maybe it's because she knows she's basically on a suicide mission.

Think of the Seven Dwarves, bb. That's the joke, I am pretty sure.

Well, we "know" from "The Answer" that Rose Quartz could crush a 3-strong Ruby fusion without much effort. We don't know how much strength each added ruby gives to a fusion, but it seems like a 4 Ruby fusion should be significantly more powerful than a 3 Ruby fusion. The five Rubies might be able to apprehend Jasper... assuming they didn't need to navigate any tactics.

She's the pilot of the spaceship and/or the leader of the mission, I guess.

Hit the Diamond: Steven did well demonstrating his capability as a leader for the other gems, which won't ever be important down the line, I'm sure.

Mmm, yeah, that's an interesting group dynamic point... in that normally Garnet takes lead but when she's split up into Ruby and Sapphire her leadership capability pretty much evaporates, leaving a vacuum in the group that Steven fills out of necessity.

That's Sapphire's influence on the fusion. Ruby tries to lead but can't. Sapphire adds clarity and wisdom so Ruby's innate want to lead can shine through in Garnet.

I hadn't really found Ruby and Sapphire that interesting as separate characters before, but this could be a whole show.

Had a eureka moment just now, and wasn't disappointed when I went looking. Actually has some pretty tight rhymes.

EDIT: Fixed, thanks the Beat!

Youtube embedding is one of those things that catches everyone at least once.

FORTUNATELY BEAT IS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY.

SAY YOU WANT TO EMBED THE VIDEO AT THIS URL
Code:
https://youtu.be/GI1qwhVB7Bg
WHAT YOU GOTTA DO IS GET RID OF THE FRONT BIT, SO ONLY THE VIDEO ID REMAINS!
Code:
GI1qwhVB7Bg
THEN YOU STICK THAT PART IN BETWEEN EITHER THE BOXY OR WIDESCREEN VIDEO TAGS LIKE SO (BUT WITH NO SPACES)
Code:
[Y T]GI1qwhVB7Bg[/YT] - BOXY
[You Tube]GI1qwhVB7Bg[/YouTube] - WIDESCREEN
AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! A BEAUTIFULLY EMBEDDED VIDEO FOR EVERYONE TO WATCH AND ENJOY!

You can also use
Code:
[Y T]GI1qwhVB7Bg?start=4[/YT]
to start it at a specific time, which most people don't seem to be aware of.

France aired up through "Steven Floats," which I think is only one episode ahead of where the US is. The "Summer of Steven" is still supposed to start in the summer, but there ain't no date. That's supposed to mark a return to normal weekly episodes. I'll believe it when I see it.

Well, it ain't a return to weekly episodes, but I'll happily take a week-long series of messing around Beach City, which is what I assume this is going to be.

Maybe it's about time their new pals actually started interacting with some humans?

Japan is up to Chille Tid, maybe the one after that. Gotta say, the Japanese cast is good, even if Greg sounds way old and Connie comes across a little more demure. Or some other way to say that she's portrayed more like Steven's follower, and isn't so strong. They didn't change the story any, I just mean she's not sarcastic and she's more cheerful.

Starting this month, I think on the 18th, they'll be airing one episode every weeknight, and won't stop until season 3 is over. Season 3 is the one we just started, so we're looking at more than 20 episodes. It's a megaton Stevenbomb.

For reference, they've ordered five seasons so far. The first was 52 episodes but the others have been 26. We're currently just past viewing half of the Steven Universe that's been paid for, and at the end of this event, we'll be at two-thirds. Assuming no more is ordered, of course.

that's wonderful but i already dread the drought that will inevitably follow after a month-long monsoon of episodes

i also don't live with my sister anymore so i gotta choose between watching them without her or falling behind at least a week at a time
