Default what is the best toast (breakfast thread)

I never eat breakfast because when I wake up I'm not hungry, ever. I mostly just feel bleary-eyed, sick and depressed. There's probably a horrible reason for that but it's OK, that's not relevant. I just want to know What Is The Best Breakfast.

I was wondering why this wasn't a thread yet. Thank you for making it!

I used to make a lazy bootleg breakfast burrito by taking a pie tin and placing a large tortilla on it. Then I'd crack an egg over it, drop some cheese and green onions (and some bits of bacon if I have it) on top, then plop it into the toaster oven for several minutes or so.

If you did it right, the egg should have this nice baked texture with the melted cheese on top, and the tortilla should still be soft enough to roll up. Goes great with your choice of salsa.

I probably completely missed the point of this thread given how the other "what is the best x" threads usually are, but oh well.

Cereal.

Because when and if I eat breakfast, it's usually what's there for me.

Actually, I really love biscuit breakfast sandwiches but rarely ever get to eat them, so put me down for those, too.

Nutritionally speaking, you can't do much better than a bowl of something whole-grain like oatmeal and an egg.

Shame oatmeal tastes like cardboard and needs so much sugar, molasses, jam, or syrup that the benefits are somewhat compromised.

How about a slice of French toast, with a bit of turkey on top as an open-faced sandwich, topped with gravy and griddled tomatoes and crumbled bacon and scallions?

I'm way too much not-a-morning-person to do anything interesting for breakfast, so 99% of the time it's a bowl of raisin bran and done.

I love breakfast food, though, so sometimes I'll just make fun egg dishes for dinner.

I ate this for breakfast yesterday:

It's basically poutine with poached eggs. I recommend that everyone eat this for breakfast daily.

McDonald's sausage McMuffin, no egg. I only let myself have one about once every two months, though.

I am a slut for biscuits.

Breakfast foods in general, really. Sausage! Bacon! Eggs! Hash browns! Omelettes! Pancakes! French toast!

I WANT IT ALL

Most of the breakfasts I eat at home are like, granola or cereal with greek yogurt and a piece of fruit. Or, beans and rice with eggs, or beans and eggs, or rice and eggs. I have oatmeal and I like making it because I have lots of simple tasty things to put in it but I don't make it very often at all.

Today I had last night's Indian leftovers.

Most days it's coffee. With a granola bar if I'm actually feeling peckish.

Carnation Instant Breakfast, as it is the breakfast meal that requires the absolute smallest amount of preparation and commitment on my part. Oftentimes supplemented with a muffin on my way to work.

Typically a Raisin Bran one, as that way it's like eating a heavily condensed bowl of cereal.

Finally tried oatmeal for the first time recently (not counting in other forms like bars, cookies, etc.). Wasn't a fan.

I do love grits, though. But I have to subsist on instant that I get from people in the States here. =(
