Default Is it a bad idea to eat an entire summer sausage at once?

Asking for a friend.

Mmmmm...sausage.

I once consumed an entire pound of boar sausage in one sitting with no ill effects.

However, that was high-quality French boar sausage. How many preservatives does this have?

Are you talking about one that's as long as your friend's forearm or one that's longer (which I have heard referred to as a yard 'o beef)?

We did a White Elephant one year and an about-to-expire summer sausage was a gift. The guy who got it started eating it immediately to prevent it from being stolen, I think he got about halfway through and had to go home.

Is that considered winning or losing in a game of White Elephant?

Now I'm trying to imagine a scenario that results in someone being so desperate for a nigh expired summer sausage they would steal it from someone.

Also, no please god four-so sometimes I disagree with you but you will surely die, see what half of one did?

You will be pleased to know I did not open the summer sausage. I did, however, open the cheese spread, which is basically Cheez-It in a plastic tub. I don't know how to feel about this but it's halfway decent on a Ritz.

Wait, is this one of those big thumb sized sausages from a gift set?

Chow down.

I was picturing one about the length of a forearm, like you see in the case at the deli.
