I'm sure if you look on the internet you can find some online gossip rag which has a "hot" take on the reason why.

Jessica Alba had 1,700,000,001 reasons to get out of acting. 1 was a baby, and the other 1.7 billion-with-a-b are right here.

Anyway I'm Super Duper on board for Black Panther

I'm so pleased that someone else's brain is as obsessed with Bryan Cranston's amazing delivery of that line as mine is.

The movie seems to be screaming for a return of Batroc in that regard. Not like GSP is doing anything else....

I'm sure he'd leap at the chance for another Marvel movie paycheck.

Good Things in the Inhumans Trailer:
- Giant teleporting doggie

Bad Things in the Inhuman Trailer:
- Giant teleporting doggie looks too CGIsh.
- Everything else

Judging by that trailer, Medusa's only role in the show is to look meaningfully at Black Bolt. Where's the money shot of her strangling like sixteen dudes with her hair?

Yeahhhhhhhhhh... It feels like if this works at all it's gonna take a little bit to find its legs and pull itself together. We'll see. I ended up being pretty happy sticking with SHIELD in the long run, but. I dunno. Some actors are gonna have to step up and carry this for it to get over its pretty obvious initial clunkiness.

Also I read those dramatic titles in the middle as "AN ASTONISHING NEW SAGA.... FILLED WITH IMAX CAMERAS". Okay. (Even read the right way, though, how the fell do they expect a relevant number of people to watch a friggin TV series in IMAX? Who the hell has money to burn on weekly IMAX tickets for a mediocre-looking show?)

I thought the trailer sorta said that only the "premiere" would be in theaters.

Hah, just clued in that Medusa is being played by the actress who played Zatanna on Smallville, aka one of the episodes I watched because the weird thing about that show was that it did a bang-up job with every DC hero except for, y'know, Superman.

From what I remember of her, she's not the most charismatic actress in history (that was easy to ignore on Smallville because she was dressed like Zatanna), so she seems to fit right in with the rest of this crew. I think she was also on that A&E procedural that was theoretically a Prison Break spinoff?

As for the rest of it: well, at least they've learned their lesson from SHIELD and aren't using clips from the movies to hype up a TV show that presumably will have no connection with the movies whatsoever.

Can't wait to find out Quicksilver is alive and always just off screen or is literally just a cgi blur all the time.

[Crystal emerges from bedroom, hair tousled]

Crystal: Hi, guys

Medusa: What were you up to

[mysterious wind blows from bedroom to front door, which briefly opens and shuts]

Crystal: Certainly nothing that would get Fox angry

I'm genuinely curious whether or not Inhumans is going to acknowledge anything that Agents of Shield has done with their people. Or at least bring up that Coulson and friends straight up killed their God. I mean, he was a jerk, but still...

More likely than if that happened on a Netflix show I guess.

Yeah, there's a hope because it's ABC - ABC (and I think on the same side of the internal Marvel feud).

You'd think that they'd look at the massive viewership boost the DC shows get for any crossover and think "hey, that might not be a bad idea", but the ABC project started off strange and hasn't really stopped.

Tell me more about this feud! I don't care about Marvel TV, but I'm thrilled by gossip. 😌

Basically Kevin Feige (producer of all the Marvel Studios movies) was tired of Marvel itself having so much input on his movies, so he got Disney to rearrange things. Now Marvel TV is still under Marvel but Marvel movies are directly under Disney leadership.

Which has sort of extended to the actors themselves, with the TV people saying they want to be part of the universe and the movie actors like Anthony Mackie saying:

Quote:
Different universes, different worlds, different companies, different designs,” Mackie began. “Kevin Feige is very specific about how he wants the Marvel Universe to be seen in the film world. It wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t work at all.
Inhumans was also originally supposed to be a full-fledged movie, set up on SHIELD and run out of the TV side of things. It was quietly dropped from the schedule a last year (I think Ant Man 2 is in the spot now) as the split came to loggerheads and reworked into the IMAX-first-TV-later thing.

So, have the shows stopped trying to world-build for the movies, and vice-versa? IIRC there was something in Agents that explained away the Helicarrier in Avengers 2, and IIRC the fallout of Avengers 1 set the stage for Daredevil.

The TV shows still reference events and characters from the movies vaguely. The movies don't know the TV shows exist.
