I really like Unspooled, sort of an anti-How Did This Get Made with Paul Scheer and Amy Nicholson. They go through the AFI Top 100 Films in mostly random order, and they have a lot of fun tearing down the canon while still respectfully taking every movie on its own terms.

So long time Talking Simpsons listener. Saw some chatter on here about what happened in regards to Antista. But nothing concrete. WTF happened?

If you are using iTunes, the problem could simply be that iTunes is terrible and just does that sometimes.

Allegedly. No one involved ever clearly stated what exactly happened. That said, I absolutely believe Chris did something really awful to warrant hastily moving back home to the other side of the country and Bob going to near Stalinist lengths to erase both Chris and Laser Time in general from the Talking Simpsons venture.

Hey we just started Season 3 of Video Death Loop. Since this is episode 1 it's easy to jump in without worrying about previously established cannon. (Hint: we do not really have previously established cannon.)
Give it a listen, won't you? |

I was in the most recent episode of Unspooled as one of the callers trying to guess what the movie is about.

That's awesome! I haven't seen that movie in at least a decade, and I loved their characterization of it as the forerunner to every teen sex comedy.

I bounced off of The Greatest Generation pretty hard. It wasn't bad, but one of the hosts annoyed me, and they just seemed determined to riff and not actually engage with or appreciate the stuff that's actually good. They have really catchy music clips, though!
So instead I decided to listen to a podcast that they kept making fun of for being too legit/serious, Mission Log! I haven't actually heard any of their eps yet, though; it's on the playlist on my MP3 player right now, so I should be hearing it soon. |

They kid because they love and do appreciate and engage with the good stuff, but it is primarily a riff show rather than a serious analysis, yeah.

Mission Log is a good podcast. They really try to get to the core of what an episode is about. This sometimes results in reaching too far, but they get to really interesting points. I recommend it.
That said, they do episode after episode and are at least through the original series. I think they are in the middle of TNG now, but depending on which Trek show you like you might not get much out of Mission Log. |

Thanks for the Mission Log recommendation. Very good. I wish it had more discussion on canon etc, but I like the dissection of the themes of the episode and how that relates to Trek themes as a whole.

Haven’t listened to it yet, but the Storybreak guys (plus others) have started a new actual play D&D podcast called Dungeons & Daddies*, about 4 dads from the real world sent into the Forgotten Realms. So I’m assuming it’s a kind of middle ground between TAZ and Magic Tavern.
Story Break rapidly became one of my favorite podcasts, so I’m enthusiastic to see what they do with this. *Not a BDSM podcast. |

Hey Tyrants!!
Shivam guested on my album discussion/criticism podcast Discord & Rhyme for a detour into the Mega Man 2 soundtrack, including a breakdown of the NES sound chip. His contributions are awesome, and I'm really pleased with how the whole thing turned out. The episode is here, and the show is also available on all the standard podcasty things. |

Voyage to the Stars is a brand-new story-driven improv sci-Fi podcast on Earwolf, and it’s one with a pretty respectable cast (Colton Dunn! Felicia Day! Janet Varney! Steve Burg!).
It’s only two episodes old, but I fell in love after one of them. And with Mission to Zyxx returning in a mere month, now I can double my exposure to narrative-driven improv sci-fi adventures every week! |
