Default OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes!

This new cartoon, created by Ian Jones-Quartey (Steven Universe, Bravest Warriors, RPG World) stars the young aspiring hero K.O., living in a video game-inspired world of heroes.

Anybody else watching this?

Whoa, Ian Jones-Quarterly is the creator? What a great career that guy has had. I wasn't really planning on watching but I'll probably give it a peek now.

Be warned: they're releasing something like twenty episodes this month. Hell of a launch. Amazon already has six.

Jim Cummings seems to be having a blast as as Lord Boxman.

That's just the title of the show. It was originally called Lakewood Plaza Turbo.

Maybe once an episode airs we can throw a quote in.

There was an episode playing earlier today. Only caught a few minutes. Seemed bonkers enough.

The thread title is the show's title.

Edit: oh, somebody already said that

Oh shit, this is out? Someone on the Bombcast E3 show was talking about working on the game for this show and made it sound awesome.

The first episodes were broadcast today, and it's currently available on video-on-demand services both licit and illicit.

That's where I heard about it too! Had completely flown below my radar up to that point.

I'm pretty sure they've made approximately 7000 episodes of it, not surprised it is their go-to time filler.

They even had an episode about the fact that there is never more than a 2 week break between "seasons".

I feel like that explains why the episode I tried to watch seemed like it was written in a shorter time than it took to actually air. I'm curious what this OKKO stuff is like though

Producing 50 11 minute episodes a year isn't much different than producing 25 22 minute episodes a year, but it gives you more impressive totals.

The only good thing about teen titans go is the night begins to shine special going on.

Also I'm going to check this out! I don't think it'll hit the same highs or mature moments as Steven Universe (or at least, I don't have high hopes it will) but I'm sure it'll be a fun watch.

It doesn't appear to be trying to be a particularly psychological show. The case of "Jethro's All Yours" is illustrative as a contrast to Steven Universe: KO attempts to empathize and identify with Jethro, who turns out to be a mindless machine after all.

The insight and sensitivity that characterizes this studio's modern output is clearly present, but they deploy it in service of jokes and irreverence based on their incongruousness with the madcap consequence-free world of ultra-violence that the characters inhabit. It appears to be following the opposite path from Adventure Time compared to Steven Universe.

But there's likely to be continuity and maybe even a plot, if the hints they're dropping indicate anything.

Opposite of Steven Universe? Then I may have to look into this.

So, I thought that Amazon wasn't updating with new episodes, but it turns out that they just put the show up twice, and one of the two listings only has the first six episodes, whereas the other one is timely. If this situation sounds familiar to you, maybe you can resolve it through customer service like I did.

Oh yeah this seems super fluffy but there's definitely hints of a deeper plot lurking...

Twice now we've seen that rain soaked flashback followed by a Thousand Yard Stare. Plus in "We got Pests", Gnarlio tears up over that photo of his friends with Enid...

Spoilers for "I know your mom."

I loved that Succulentus was basically ripping on every 90s grunge song by quoting parts of the song. Especially his freak on a leash attack.
