It's like everyone involved in the production saw Paddington, thought, "Holy shit, we need to get in on this" and then just picked the first "British kids' story with talking animals" they could find. It's a wonder we've been spared a comedic take on Watership Down.

(For what it's worth, Paddington was better than I thought it would be, but I was still not the hugest fan of it.)

This looks like a lackluster addition to the otherwise sterling Hop cinematic universe.

I dunno about the story, but the creature animation is well done.

Pacific Rim Uprising

It looks better than I expected. I'm still a bit worried because the director has only done TV before.

Looks even MORE like a mecha OAV than the original (and of course there's mecha-to-mecha combat now ) but the bit when that one jaeger nonchalantly combined the swords, Voltron-style, made me cackle with glee.

No idea what Annihilation is about but I'm interested. Reminded me of The Last of Us but that could just be the bizarre flora imagery.

I'm hoping this turns out well, as I really liked the novella and had been hoping to see a good adaptation. Of course, my dream directors for this would have been the Coen Bros., but I'll take what I can get.

I want to see Geostorm because itís a bad disaster movie, but it has the one bad trailer that actually dissuades me from wanting to see it. It just looks too wacky and low-stakes, like shit never goes down.

Disappointing.

Haven't gotten around to it yet. It's more of a thriller, but I tend to be horrored out after Halloween, so I probably won't get to this in a while.

Okay so...

If anyone needs me for the next five months, I'll be camping out in front of the theater.

I wasn't excited until that last shot that shows us that there will be a bird's eye view of traffic. WOO!

Sometimes I wish The Rock would make good movies, but more often I am glad he doesn't. Because otherwise stuff like this wouldn't get made.

Also, I completely lost it at "the world is a vampire."

That trailer plays it too straight for my tastes. I'm hoping there will be at least 80% more of The Rock cracking wise in the actual movie.

Right? What a weird note to close on. It's like someone forgot and left the camera on for a few seconds.

I was not prepared for the high camp of the Rock shouting "GEOOOOOOOOOORGE" with all the anguish he could muster.

If you'd told me 10 years ago that The Rock would become one of the actors I most look forward to seeing in any film, I would have laughed in your face. Yet somehow, here we are.

I dunno, 10 years ago me loved Walking Tall and The Rundown, and was sad he wasn't immediately a big action star (was never terribly big on Vin Diesel).

Rocky was so, so bad in Scorpion King that I had zero expectations for The Rundown. I did a full 180 on his acting after that.

I was expecting the usual few links to other trailers from the same studio, but nothing.

I can't stop thinking about Rampage. I've watched the trailer at least three times, when I don't even bother watching trailers for Star Wars, Deadpool, or Pacific Rim. I keep talking about it to everyone I see. It's taking over my life!
