Default Beat Downs

This is just not going to be nice! I'm not looking for beautifully-choreographed martial arts, dazzling stunts or badass matches. I just want to see a guy get totally overmatched and turn into pulp. List your favorite or notable smack downs here. Doesn't have to be movies, it can even be your favorite beat down from the Bible (Cain comes to mind).

My number one is Jack O'Connell as Brett going Tasmanian on another kid in the brutal Eden Lake (skip to 12:30). What makes it so effective is O'Connell's volcanic rage and an unusually successful combination off-screen horror and in-your-face pummeling.

Others:

Bane breaking Batman.

Ip Man destroying ten Karate Kids.

Joe Pesci beating the crap out of pigeons. Okay... okay... beating some wise guy (with De Niro working the dude like a StairMaster).

The Street Fighter (Sonny Chiba) has some of my favorite beatdown scenes. The film itself is pretty average (and the sequels are increasingly weak), but the brutal martial artistry in that film is top notch. I see the movie is in youtube, I'll have to pick out some favorite scenes later.

aaargh fuuuck this movie. And I mean that as a compliment to the filmmakers. I don't like the underlying Daily Mail-affirming message but my word is it a horrible horror movie.

Oh yeah, the movie is trash and exploitative but some of the stuff in the movie I can't shake from my system.

Seriously, talk about special effects that have aged poorly. Somehow Matrix 1's effects look better than that scene! Edit x2: Oh God I just rewatched it. It's so awful, especially in direct contrast with The Raid scenes I just watched. It's so slow and boring and bad CG is bad CG and ughghghh

The Protector: Tony Jaa vs. a hotel's worth of presumably bad dudes, and the difficulty of shooting a three-minute fight scene with dozens of participants in a single take

End of Evangelion: A big red robot vs. a bunch of creepy looking white robots (huge spoilers). Also, check out this lecture on how abnormally amazing Mitsuo Iso's animation is; every motion in this fight has a palpable shitload of weight behind it.

The Wire: A bad man beats a very, very bad man to death. Again, huge spoilers. Thoroughly one-sided and very unpleasant to watch, even if the recipient probably had it coming.

The final fight scene in Lethal Weapon is famous among martial arts nerds for being the first onscreen use of brazilian jiujitsu in America

He also uses capoeira and 52 hand blocks, but those arent real

Fight choreography by Rorion Gracie, in fact.

I hated My So-Called Life very much, so I liked this bit from Fight Club.

It's too bad that clip is the single highlight of the movie by far. I was pretty disappointed with the rest of movie after only knowing about that single fight scene before going into it.

I was thinking something more along the lines of "guy goes ballistic and turns opponent into a pile of mush," not a video game.

Let's not make this a general fight thread. We already have one. I just want unadulterated pummeling.

Irréversible is a dumb movie, but that beatdown in the beginning is pretty amazing (NSFW).
