Anyone like Cheerwine? I'm sad it stopped distribution in these parts.

I like it. In California, you should be able to find it at Bevmo, though it's expensive.

It's nice. I can find it in Cracker Barrel's store section.

Oh man, I haven't had Cheerwine in forever. Or Leninade, or Moxie.

I need to get to a BevMo ASAP!

So, I tried the replacement for Coke Zero. Here's how that went.

It's actually pretty good! It's got a spicy smell and a sweet, pleasant flavor that ends with a watery finish. (Hint: drink it straight. Ice only waters it down more.) It's still a diet soft drink, but it comes closer to tasting like Coke Classic than the original Coke Zero (and I can confidently say that, as I have both in the house). This isn't a New Coke situation... I think people are going to be happy with the changes they've made.

I've had a few sodas from India, and they're all really good.

Jarrito's nuclear mango is beautiful, sugar-sweetened, and tastes just a little like the flavor I get in my mouth when I drive past the DOE facilities

After further taste-testing, Coke Zero Sugar seems to give me a bit of a tummyache. Maybe too much citric acid and carbonation?

I tried a bottle recently, too. My verdict is that the taste is still similar to the Coke Zero we love, but better.

I like Cheerwine. Not something I'd get every week (With the exception of ginger ale I can tolerate only so much citric soda before I get sick of it and need a good cola or Dr. Something as a palate cleanser), but it's got a great flavor.

Shame its placement in stores is so sporadic, though. Like Tab, it can be hard to find regularly, even at stores that you know have had it.

They had 'pepsi fire' in the grocery store, so I got a bottle because huh cinnamon soda.

Well, I'll stick to Abita's king cake soda for my cinnamon fix.. This stuff isn't nearly sweet enough, although my dad seems to like it at least. Kishi said it tastes like red hots (I never ate red hots growing up because I was afraid of how hot they would be)

I just tried that yesterday, thanks an accommodating visitor coming in from the city. Pepsi with Red Hots in it is exactly how I described it too. It's hard to say I actually like it, but I've definitely been drinking more of it than is strictly necessary.

Bought some of this on a whim. Not bad but it would never be a "go to" drink. Has a strange aftertaste.

Status Report:

Coke Zero (Sugar) tastes pretty much like Coke Zero.

That is all.

It's been almost two months since the Pepsi 1893's went away. Where did they go?

The new best La Croix flavor is Key Lime.

Pomplemousse is a close second.

I had some almost-expired Crystal Pepsi the other day. It was pretty good! I don't know if I'd get it over other citrus-y sodas, or dr. pepper tho. Definitely a marked improvement over most dark colas though. (I generally disapprove of colas. Sorry!)

Saw a few in a Kroger this weekend.

I also saw some TAB. It's been nearly a decade since I tried any, so I got a case to see whether my tastes have changed. Evidently they have, because I recall it being pretty vile, but tastes pretty OK now.

Mainly, I've found that diet coke is too sweet for me anymore, so I wanted to see if maybe it would fill that niche of more carbonation and less sweetener

Tab used to be made from saccharine rather than aspertame. If it used to be nasty to you, that's probably why. Oddly, I liked the old, more bitter flavor than the new one!

According to the side of the can, it is a blend of saccharine and aspartame, and according to the internet has been so since before I was born, so I can't say that's likely to be the cause!

Sometimes i wonder what TAB would taste like if they made a sugar version. Also would they put it in a darker colored can?

I tried the holiday Pepsi drinks.

Holiday Brew Mountain Dew is is you like regular MD, but find Code Red to be too out there. This is a nice balance of the two. It tastes like Mountain Dew.

Salted Caramel Pepsi is an affront to God and Nature. It is Pepsi with the hint of dirty sock. Just genuinely unpleasant. I drank the whole bottle and I wish I was dead.

Holiday Mt. Dew isn't terrible, but offers nothing new.

It was some strange compulsion. It was sitting on the table. I couldn't let it go to waste (I could have). It couldn't taste as bad as I first thought (It did).

I understand, I did the same thing once with a PB&J-flavored beer (I still have no idea why I ordered it, other than sheer audacity). The aftertaste still haunts me.

I've had some good PB&J beer made with real berries and peanuts. Some brands just do it with flavor powders, though, and those are usually no good.
