Me too, to be honest.

PowerPax made a big impression on me at the time, for some reason.

edit: Extremely shocked and offended to discover she has apparently only appeared in this one issue.

shattershot has its moments but yeah it is pretty much of a mess.

dynamite art though -- the X-Men annual is a platoon effort but the Uncanny one is early Jae Lee, the X-Factor one is early Joe Quesada, and the X-Force one is early Greg Capullo.

Well, let's face it, any shout-out to Power Pack is always welcome, and as far as costumes designed for 90's X-Force go, that one ain't too shabby.

Imagine Francine drawn by Gurihiru.

No idea. I wasn’t paying attention when it came up chronologically and missed it. I should read it... so I guess... you should, too.

Strong yea to both. Don't pass up Nocenti writing basically anything (and especially Mojo), don't pass up Cockrum drawing Nightcrawler.

All? Really... maybe just one... one and a half. Perhaps in the early 90s. Who can say?

More quality comix.
The Revanche story still goes on a bit after her death. At this point, Revanche was definitely Not Really Bety Braddock and the story kind of vaguely wipes away the parts of her from Psylocke that aren’t “sexy ninja.”

17 year old Gambit. But I suppose now we are in an age (still to this day) of late 20-30 somethings playing minors in teen soaps.

Yessssss.

My’s name’s Trevor Fitzroy and I’m here to say...

Incredible news about Stockholm syndrome or self-justification: I think the Gamesmaster is funny now. The worst thing he does (kill the Hellions) is passed and now he’s just a bored comic book character in a world without stakes.

Like, his primary deal, he is aware of everyone’s schemes against him and it doesn’t matter. Also, telepathy doesn’t work, or doesn’t matter when it does.

He says the title of the crossover! Good boy.

Back to telepathy, irrelevant power, GM can’t read Speedball’s mind, but can Cable’s.

A 10 year old just smashing his action figures together.

Yes he’s a creep but I think he’s funny.

In other news, Rictor and Shatterstar are a secret couple now. I probably missed earlier hints... unless I didn’t.

I also set my twitter trends to worldwide.

This was a cool way to end the issue... trust me.

BTW Scott and Jean had a dang miniseries that I missed so that’s two new things I’m gonna check out soonish.

Shit, I didn't get that until you said it. Maybe Maddy Myers' theory that they're Sinister's harem has legs.

I really enjoyed their laid-back approach to petty crime under PAD and had no idea they'd ever turned up again, since I dropped X-Factor like a hot rock when he did (along with most Big Two comics in general). I didn't even remember DeMatteis had stepped in between him and Mackie.

IIRC this one was pretty good, it was Gene Ha's breakthrough gig. Cool big freaky sci-fi vista stuff.

I realize this is weird to say about someone who dresses like that, but I thought Sinister would have better taste. Stroman draws them as such weirdo scumbags, if he was going for "rough trade" he overshot the mark all the way to "Mos Eisley". Ramrod up there is a straight-up Morlock, but the Mutant Ages' description of animated Ruckus as "this beautiful pink-haired bishonen man" had me cracking up for a week.

Mister Sinister is NOT tasteful; he surrounds himself with Gambit clones and the Marauders. (I love them all)

I definitely miss his old look and do not care for his current vest + ponytail.

the end of that Nimrod story in X-Force is fun because Cable does the Captain Kirk thing and just reasons Nimrod to death.

Has anyone ever topped Cyclops (?) talking the Sentinels into trying to beat up the Sun? I was so glad Ed Piskor made sure to work that in.

By your very own logic, Nimrod...

Domino’s very 90s mom; a bit racist. She does respectfully call him Star, as opposed to Shatty.

She’s been dropping hints about her ex. No idea who he is or how long this plotline lasts.

Lol.

Sam’s 20 now! We can establish a real timeline.

I know it’ll never be the same, but I love the promise of more Feral.

Reading the Nightcrawler mini and I’m curious: is Nightcrawler’s skin blue? Has he ever shaved?

On the one hand, sometimes they get a lot of stuff wrong when they try to explain differences between the adaptations (the focus of their show) and the source material and it frustrates me, a person doing an entirely too thorough chronological read through of comics with X-Men in them. (Only 5 more issues of ~Dazzler~!!! After the fun in issue #1, it's mostly extremely bad.)

On the other hand, I know that that doesn't matter at all and also they have a "Which X-Men is the gayest today?" segment, so I mean I'm going to listen to it.

He's got a thin layer of blue fur, like a chihuahua. But I think the skin underneath is also blue.

Sometimes he's just a guy with blue skin, though. Depending on whether or not the writer/artist remembers he's supposed to be fuzzy

Okay, so one difference between Cockrum’s and Davis’s Nightcrawler is that the former is not the most beautiful man alive, unsurpassed by the most powerful instagram thirst trap. Still, he is surrounded by some extremely rad-looking monsters.

Cool shark guy

This is a very blockbuster reference-heavy miniseries.

These assholes

Sure does you little freaks

Enjoyed this primarily because of that Wheels Ontario sketch about Banff

You think they’re just annoying little kids

In fact they are unaccountably horny adults

Very cool monsters

At one point, Nightcrawler and a Wolverine are tied up by a tentacle monster and Kurt just has to tickle ‘is way out.

Cool dinosaur~

I buy that a 14 year old teleporter has a lot of pornography.

These people truly live in an innocent world, untouched by Wolverine oversaturation.

In conclusion, fun book.
