Default That time in 1989 when Jim Davis revealed that Garfield was dead.

Garfield is dead, the entire Run of the Garfield newspaper comic is Garfield's ghost doing that shit from The Others.

Discuss.

A turn that is honestly far less chillding than the time Garfield turned feral and mauled an old lady;

All cats should live as ageless, comfortable ghosts without real problems. I’m happy for Garfield.

Any discussion on WEIRD GARFIELD DIRECTIONS is not complete without mentioning that Animated thing where Garfield was detective Sam Spade.

Especial the ending where he spends some "quality time" with his new (human) secretary.

That was a section in the 9 Lives book.

It also is the reason for his aversion to work.

That's true, though in the book everyone was shown to be a cat, as that panel shows, so the secretary thing wasn't nearly as weird as it was in the cartoon where everyone but Garfield was human.

So thanks to this thread I decided to buy "His 9 lives", because it sounded like a cool experimental book to take Garfield into... only to find out the hard way that there was a 2nd book with the same name published in 2016 which was... not as experimental as I expected, on the contrary, completely formulaic, and well, just not good at all.

D'oh. >_<
