Since this is also kinda de facto the Car Boys thread, why is THIS episode called "Nick and Griffin Take Things Too Far"? Isn't that the unofficial series subtitle!?

I would say this episode deserves the title.

Just holy shit that music choice.

So they transitioned from "let's goof around with this physics engine where it's fun to smash stuff" into writing some big epic cosmic horror story around what, like episode 4?

Having listened to the latest Adventure Zone;

Griffin is totally using Garfields voice for Lup. I realize there's a limit to his vocal range, but I know what my headcanon is now!

I had a moment of clarity today and realized that the McElroy brothers - considering in particular the format of their flagship show and their relationship with language in humor - are the successors to the brothers Chaps.

I'm so happy that Lup is trans. TAZ has been really good with its LGBT characters, after the initial misstep with Hurley and Sloane.

Lup is fantastic and I'm so excited for her to take over the entire podcast

This week four people separately linked me to something they said I would love and each time it was a separate video/cast/whatever and each time it was a McElroy joint. Do they sleep

I'm pretty sure at least two of them* more or less literally don't sleep, on account of the recent babies.

But uhhh if anything that just makes their output even more perlexing.

*Or all three of them? I honestly can't keep Travis and Justin's voices straight, so I get confused about things that happened to someone other than Griffin...

Griffin probably does not, the other two only do in shifts.

There are some MBMBAM episodes recorded while they were filming the TV show where they were, like, obviously obliterated from exhaustion.

Travis has a toddler, the other two have infants.

I'm pretty sure that it's Justin with the toddler (Charlie) and Travis/Griffin with nübabes.

Yep

Justin is the oldest, he lives in WV and has a toddler. He works at Polygon and he's on Monster Factory, Sawbones, The Besties, Quality Control, and Things I Bought at Sheetz:

Travis is the middlest. He lives in OH and has a new baby. He's on Shmanners, Interrobang, Trends Like These, Bunker Buddies, Surprisingly Nice, and he produces a ton of podcasts on Max Fun. He doesn't do much video stuff, but here he is getting a tattoo:

Griffin is the youngest. He lives in Austin and has a new baby. He also works at Polygon and he's on Monster Factory, Car Boys, Cool Games Inc., a bunch of Polygon let's plays, he DMs The Adventure Zone, he's a 30 under 30 media luminary, and he does Griffin's Amiibo Corner:

No amount of explanation will ever turn MBMBAM into anything but Griffin and the not-Griffins for me.

Like, I know that Justin also works at Polygon and that Travis does theater in Ohio, and if I can see a picture of their faces I remember who is on what other projects . . . but their voices just blend together, so

(also, to be 100% honest, griffin is by far my favorite, so that's also likely a factor)

It took me A WHILE to differentiate Justin and Travis, but now that I have they're utterly distinct to me.

It's funny, while I understand that Travis is "the one who does theater," Justin is so much more about act-outs while Travis is the pun/dad-joke guy.

I can tell Justin and Travis' voices apart by using Deep Concentration.

I guess I've been listening to MBMBAM long enough that I don't even think they sound that similar anymore. All of my friends who are new to the bros. mix them up constantly though, so it's not just y'all.

It took me learning their names and listening for them, but I can definitely tell the two apart, just took some time.

Yeah, same. I found it impossible at first, but that made some conversations really confusing or hard to follow, so I put in a concerted effort and now I find the difference to be very stark.

I can tell them apart, I just forgot which one had the toddler.

She really likes The Smurfs.

On top of having similar voices, Justin and Travis actually have the same birthday (different years).

I tell Travis and Justin apart by thinking that Justin's the one who sounds a touch more like the stereotypical southern good-ol' boy and Travis is the one who sounds a touch more like a gay lumberjack

Justin's voice is incrementally deeper and Travis' is a bit nasal.

Travis is also the one who gave the world "[My fishlifters] aren't for you, Deborah."

Which is always the phrase I most immediately associate with him, and society in general.
