I'm not even saying Tom Brady is no doubt the best quarterback of all time, but people are going to be making that argument on television after we're all dead.

The Road except the whole book is the father arguing with his son whether Brady is the GOAT.

Default Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

And the first blockbuster trade of the NFL season has been agreed to* with Kansas City trading Alex Smith to Washington. Washington is admitting that they won't be retaining Kirk Cousins for a maximum value contract and has acquired one of the steadier, high-floor low-ceiling QBs on this year's market in Smith. As soon as the Super Bowl ends the intense speculation about which team will acquire Cousins will zip into high gear. Denver? Arizona? Cleveland? Or could Jacksonville, weeks removed from a Conference Championship appearance cast aside Blake Bortles and replace him with the coveted Cousins? The first domino has fallen. It will be intriguing to see how the rest of the offseason developments unfold.

* Though the trade can't be officially executed until the beginning of the new league year on Mar 14.

KC got a pretty good haul for a QB they seem to view as blocking their future.

A recent episode of Jeapordy! had "football" as one of the question categories. The contestants had a significant amount of difficulty answering any questions from the category.

I got all of them except the Tom Landry question (I know next to nothing about the early years of the Cowboys).

That was such a revealing moment to me about America. Timberlake pulls that move, and it's somehow Jackson's fault. She's blackballed from the industry/her career is never the same, Timberlake's career continues forwards towards new dizzying heights.

I feel like these announcers are not being genuine in their praise of the halftime show, but maybe that's just because I saw it and know what it was like

I do have to give it to the Brady/Belichick Pats, every SB they've been in has been exciting.

This game also punctuated what a dumpster fire the AFC has become.

And just as we all expected at the beginning of the year, Nick Foles came off the bench late in the season and helped power the Eagles all the way through the playoffs and to a Super Bowl victory.

But seriously, what an exceptional performance by Foles and the Eagles and what great coaching by Pederson to get the best out of his player and win a championship. Amazing work.

It can’t be stated enough how much of a miracle this is being considered.

Nobody thought that Doug Fucking Pederson had the skill as a coach to lead the team to a Super Bowl, much less winning one, MUCH LESS in his second season as a head coach, MUCH LESS coming off a 7-9 run last year.

Nelson Agholor was left for dead last year. Last night he had a 9/84 game, 24 on the game-winning drive. Nobody thought he had it in him to play a part in winning the big one.

Nobody thought this team would get anywhere once its star quarterback got hurt. Nobody thought that NICK FOLES had it in him to helm a team through the playoffs against some excellent teams, MUCH LESS the Super Bowl.

And nobody thought this team would beat the New England Fucking Patriots. Gotta hand it to Brady, though, those stats are otherworldly and if he wasn’t in the game it wouldn’t have come down to that last play.

But all of those things happened, and that is why the Philadelphia Eagles are the Super Bowl Champions.

Needless to say, the celebration was something else.

When I learned the star cornerback on the Pats side was benched the entire game, their anemic defense yesterday became much easier to comprehend. I await discovery the decision was actively, intentionally racist in nature.

I don't think Malcolm Butler is really a star cornerback. He's fine. I'm not entirely sure why he was benched, but I would sort of calm down on the racist calls here, especially when his backup was also Black?

I have to admit, I'm greatly enjoying the "are they finished!?" hot takes about the Patriots/Brady/Belicheck coming fresh off the SB right now.

There's more reason to think so than there was at this time in 2008 or 2012, though.
