Yes, my phone contains the entirety of the music released in the 1990s.

Hope I Get Old Before I Die - They Might Be Giants

Against all probability, that showed up twice, as I pressed Shuffle five times.

Better Not Mess With Magnet Man - The Megas

Can we just sit and appreciate the beauty of lyrics like;

I told her “I think you’re the one”
Her answer was A Brother with a Loaded Gun

And

“Sure, my dad wants to rule the world
Are you going to let that come between us, gurl?”

The extended Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song.

Just in case there was any doubt whether or not I was using my actual phone.

Tom Waits - The Return of Jackie and Judy

Professional glass gargler Tom Waits is someone I really need to listen to more. I like this cover quite a bit.

Laredo Tornado by Electric Light Orchestra. Reminds me that it's been a hot minute since I've listened to any ELO. Thanks for the reminder, thread!

Sins of the Father - Mega Ran

Three of the preceding 4 were also spooky themed.

The other one was a polka.

Draw what conclusions you may.

David Bowie - Valentine's Day

Even towards the end, he was killing it.

It happened again! What are the odds of that.

Well, 1:600, I guess.

Jimmy Eat World's "No, Never"

One of the better songs of this album...altho it is among their weakest.

I’ll Begin Again - Dropkick Murphies

Which proves to myself and others that it’s not just tv and video game themes, TMBG and chat topping hits from when I was in middle school.

Ghost - The Mystery Skulls

Not actually a Halloweeny song, but a very Halloweeny music video

Our Lady Peace's Denied. One of the better tracks of their debut.

Light & Day - Polyphonic Spree

It’s one of those songs where you feel compelled to smile every time you hear it

Later is Now - Devo

Devo's last album was a pretty good way to cap off their career (the less said about the single "Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro", the better) and returning years later, the rise of auto-tune was a perfect inclusion into their entire ethos of advanced tech in favour of devolved lyrics.

This song actually pairs nicely with the song that follows it, No Place Like Home, as this one is about the ugly present we've made followed by a song worrying about the future we're making. Strangely, for some reason, I keep thinking this song would be perfect for a OMAC movie and No Place Like Home being perfect for a Kamandi movie.

BTW, one of the great Devo things of the album was to choose the songs that would be on it and you voted for 12 of 16. Then when the album came out, not specifically featuring the songs as they were voted for, the line-up was described as "86 percent fan approved!" Brilliant.

Statue Got Me High - They Might Be Giants

If you were to put a gun to my head and ask me to pick the best FMBG song... well, I’d tell you to put the gun away and stop being so dramatic. The answer is Birdhouse, clearly.

But if you asked me to name my two favorite, I’d probably say this one.

Wrote a Song for Everyone - Mavis Staples

I first saw Mavis Staples on the Colbert Report and was really impressed. This is a pretty good cover of a Creedence Clearwater Revival song.
