Old Iron King was... pretty easy. i mean, I'd mistime my roll and get knocked into lava, but overall he was not that hard to figure out. Like most bosses in this game, the run up to him is more dangerous than the actual fight.

This one really should have been Demon's Souls II.

So I beat scorpion boss thingy and now I have several options and I'm wondering what the optimal order would be for a first timer:

Doors of Pharros
Brightstone Cove Tseldora
Grave of Saints
The Gutter

The difficulty curve order is probably Grave of Saints > Gutter > Brightstone Cove. Doors of Pharos is a weird PvP area with one of the shittiest bosses in any DS game and I don't think it even leads anywhere else (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

After poking around the internet it looks like I don't need to bother with Grave of Saints either? So Gutter/Black Gulch and then Brightstone look like how to do it before moving on to the next part of the game. Although I've been doing a lot of despawning so my levels are in the 110s so I imagine I'm set for whatever.

Yeah, you can totally skip the Grave of Saints if you're not being a completionist. I did accidentally; I never even found it until I went looking for it because of a certain bit of loot I wanted there.

Grave of Saints, Doors of Pharos, and the two Belfrys are all multiplayer areas. They’re fun if you want to dip your foot in, but also completely optional.

Is the belfry covenant still the only good way to get chunks in the game? That worked out well right when it came out and I could actually win the occasional pvp fight but not so much a few months down the line.

Pretty much. Otherwise the best drop rates are from the weird things that pop out of the black pools in Black Gulch, the 10 from Chloanne when you beat Undead Crypt, and beating the base game final boss gives her an unlimited supply. Apparently joining the Champion covenant from that rock in Majula will keep regular enemies like the things in Black Gulch respawning indefinitely until you leave the covenant so there's that too.

If you don't mind burning through Ascetics there's a spot that should spawn 3 more in Harvest Valley each time you use one on the bonfire.

Right, but I thought he said he had access already so I thought there might have been another way I was forgetting.

Did you beat dark souls 3 and bloodborne already, or are you playing all the souls games at once

I forgot that the first boss was a brown stickman in a brown room.

God this game sucks (I've been playing for hours so it obviously doesn't actually suck)

Guys, what area should I go in order to finish the game? I want to pick this game up after completing what I'm convinced is most of the base game, but I cannot for the life of me remember where the hell I've been and where the hell I'm supposed to go.

Shrine of Amana / Royal Crypt > That One Castle / Dragon Aerie > Back to the Queen's Chamber?

Did I guess right? It's been a while!

Giant Memories come last.

Oh yeah, I always forget the game doesn't end immediately after Drangleic Castle. The game really should have put the Dragon Aerie somewhere else and then end right at Drangleic Castle. The rest of the endgame is awful.

So with The Rotten and Duke's Dear Freja down, I guess it's time to head to Drangleic Castle. So, not counting DLC and other optional stuff, what percentage of the game would you say I have left?

Holy christ this three-armour fight in Lost Bastille. I'm so frickin salty right now. You don't even know. I summoned two helpers and we still lost. I don't want to play this anymore. I hate Dark Souls II. It is trash garbage. God damnit.

That fight gave me lots (LOTS, as in hours) of trouble the first time, now I don't find it too bad.

Blunt weapons and magic/lightning resin make the fight a lot easier.

So if you're playing Scholar of the First Sin edition, you have to beat Pursuer and enter the Bastille from there to find an Antiquated Key near where you meet Lucatiel, if you have that you're halfway there.

Then you go out the opposite end of Majula, you'll eventually get to a big boat. That takes you to a different part of the Bastille where you can find the matching door.
