If this isn't the largest YouTube collaboration ever, it's certainly up there:

If you haven't heard Game Music Lullabies, you really should! They just released a beautiful remastered version of their first volume and it's probably my favorite remix album.

That's a really fun Bloody Tears remix. Thanks for sharing! I can't tell if that channel has any other particularly video-gamey covers.

In other news, Scarlet Moon is putting out a classical guitar album covering Final Fantasy IV, with the hope that this one sells well and they can put out more albums (in particular they cite wanting to do a Final Fantasy V album next). In particular, they got William Carlos Reyes of The OneUps fame to write the covers and play his guitar, and it's super sweet. Check out their teaser video!

This is now the canonical version of Wily Stage 1 from Megaman 2

I like this non-canon version:

Years ago...I forget how many, but quite a few, a guy did covers of Metroid music in a metal style. Aptly, it was named Metroid Metal. Well, I just did a search and apparently the band (I guess it's a whole band now!) re-recorded some of that music. So I am going through this, but my memories were very positive of Metroid Metal. They cover stuff from the original NES game, Super Metroid...even some of the handheld games I think? And stuff from the Metroid Prime series.

Metroid Metal bandcamp. Oh man, "Item Room" is kicking ass right now...
