Default Google Gogglebob's Goggleblog that blogs Gogglebob's googled cobs

WARNING: There are no actual cobs involved.

I started my own blog:

http://www.gogglebob.com

Two reasons:
1. I wanted somewhere to put all of the "omega posts" that I've made across the forum, which I will be posting gradually to the blog in "remastered" forms.
2. I wanted to write about video games. Shocking!

So here we are. I don't know how long it will last, but my current plan is to, every Monday-Wednesday-Friday, post about a randomly chosen video game. The first game was Double Dragon, and next is Fighter's History.

Pay me in social media. Likes are like precious nectar to me.

So, ya know, whatcha think?

I don't know which fact I find more unbelievable, that they got Alyssa Milano for that Double Dragon movie or that at least one person apparently saw it in the theaters.

Gogglebob on Fighter's history:

Hey, you canít copyright poetry, man, the person that invented rhyming didnít horde the idea for himself for all of time, and you canít claim you own the idea of how some dude throws a projectile at another dude. Itís, like, totally ScŤne ŗ faire, bro.

At least thatís what some idiot judge decided when Capcom sued Data East for this piece of $%* being the exact same ^&*$ing game as Street Fighter II. Christ, our legal system.

I enjoyed reading an interview in a recent Retro magazine with one of the expert witnesses Data East used during the trial to (successfully apparently) convince the judge that all fighting games are basically ripping off Bruce Lee movies or whatever.

Apparently Data East was worried Capcom would ask the expert to actually play some fighting games in front of everyone to prove he was really an expert so they hired a pro at ridiculous expense to teach him how to suck less. Unfortunately he was never asked to show off his sick new skills.

I'm surprised I can still type this, as I ran out of words on my most recent post, but there is absolutely no part of that FH fact that surprises me. I was once dragged a couple of hours away from home as an expert witness to potentially testify in a case that Microsoft Excel works like a calculator, but the judge decided that my testimony wasn't necessary when he saw that I had actually shown up.

The American Legal System is, at times, weird.

But seriously? Fighter's History? It feels so much like Street Fighter 2 from top to bottom it hurts.

I have a big dumb blind soft spot for Fighter's History but I can't defend it in good conscience.

Also, I can't think of any foundation to use to defend it.

Mortal Kombat trilogy post is up, and I'm pretty much just posting here because this gif had no place in the actual post.

Bless you, murderous anteater.

Strangely, nearly everything in there I "knew" off the top of my head, with the exception of the Deadly Alliance backstory, which I remembered was crazy, but just not how crazy. Beyond that, the whole "Scorpion gets a task from GOD" has been bothering me for years. Guy just goes from one job to another...

Anyway, latest post is getting delayed until tomorrow, because, man, Yoshi Touch and Go just makes me sad.

I really appreciate all the support I'm getting here, by the by, it's nice to know your audience actually gives a damn.

Yoshi Touch & Go is go. One nice thing about this is that it means I won't have any reason to play this game again.

On one hand, I am bound by the whole challenge thing, and games chosen are completely random. On the other hand, it's my damn blog, and I can write about whatever I want.

So go ahead, suggest away.

I like Yoshi's Island, too, but I'm always glad to see someone who agrees with me that it isn't the Best Mario Game.

Yoshi's Island is not a Mario game. It is a Yoshi game.

That's kind of why I'm doing this FGC thing, it is way too easy to just make a blog about "here's a pile of games I like that everyone else has already written about for the last decade. Did you know Final Fantasy 6 is awesome?!" Though I do have a post or two waiting in the wings for someone, whether they be robot or person, to suggest, and whoops, here's like a million billion words.

Not to suggest I have pre-written posts just laying around, mind you, just that my brain's idle mode seems to "fantasize" about different ways to look at video games. Oh man, I just realized I might be a nerd!

But, as far as post choice goes, I believe in FATE... err... fate.
