While I was not fond of the way they trashed the older generation to make way for Rodimus and company, I agree his characterization was spot on. I don't think any leader has had to deal with the kind of shadow cast by G1 Optimus.

I have a number of biggo Optimii, including the clunky old MP-1 Optimus, but I actually don't have one at the moment that fits in with the rest of the Masterpiece crowd. That's mainly because when I started collecting MPs (this year), Takara announced they were releasing a third version of MP Optimus in 2019. Now how much dough I'm gonna have to cough up for this guy...that's the real Mystery of Convoy.

As one final addendum to this LP, I wanted to mention the Mystery of Convoy Returns.

Back in 2014, Android/iOS users got to play a...let's say, loving homage to the original Famicom game on their phones. Mystery of Convoy Returns was an infinite running game with its characters based on the then-current Q Transformers subline. The marketing material for this line, in the form of short web videos, acknowledged and celebrated the legendary difficulty of the Famicom game. The first series of videos mainly depicted several TF characters standing around and discussing the history of terrible video games.

Unfortunately TFwiki's entries for these episodes are incomplete, and it's tough to find the videos themselves these days. The game was retired in 2016. You can at least view some footage of the game on YouTube:

This game was free to play, but you had to buy more continues after you died. Sheesh.

Aside from the play-to-continue aspect, that seems like a neat little nostalgia thing. Plus the truck sprite is V cute.

Grants invincibility to everything in exchange to a crippling weakness to moray eels, the moment one showed up on screen the transformer would self destruct, because why delay the inevitable?
Good thing there are none in the game I guess!
