why do i have to keep logging in

Did you check the box when you logged in that asks it to stay logged in for 30 days? (You may have had to do this a single additional time in the last ~24 hours at the new URL.)

i think it's because they moved from absolutely not talking time to just talking time

That would largely defeat the point of using 2FA.
