It’s a bit long, but gotta say, the new theme song is friggin’ great
It's nice, not really something that I immediately loved, but also something I'm certain will grow on me over time. The same was true for It's a Departure. And I like the happy sunny vibes! It has big Twenty Chase the Sun energy.

As much as I think the new themesong is good, I am also a little sad that pretending the new themesong was coming soon wasn't a neverending bit ala the sunsetting of Munch Squad.

Turns out not much. Basically it's just about how the brothers' popularity peaked a while back and hasn't quite reached the same heights since, also some fans were upset about character choices made during the course of The Adventure Zone and Travis said a few dumb things. No horrible revelations emerge from it, thankfully.
The video is pretty fair overall if somewhat clickbaity. I would question the ethics of making youtube capital out of a complete non-scandal, even if it doesn't end up changing anyone's opinion on the McElroys in a negative way it's still a bit cynical.
On the plus side there's also some pretty good stuff in it on parasocial relationships between fan communities and creators. I can't comprehend how utterly draining it must be day-to-day to operate in that online creative sphere, being the constantly exposed to the neediest demands of your audience while also being aware that your output will always be held to an insanely high moral standard and any slip-up risks a massive career-fucking shitstorm.

I too got duped into watching a 2+ hour video that boils down to Travis is a bad DM.
FWIW this video seems like a 2 hour version of a succinct article by Gita Jackson at Vice/Waypoint/Motherboard back in March, because basically every video essay on YouTube is multiple hours too long for some reason.
(I am not going to watch the 2 hour video. I'm just judging by the summary in the previous post, and I'm linking the article for other people who are definitely not going to watch the 2 hour video but are interested in the gist.)

As a general rule of thumb, I think we all have a civic duty to never watch 2 hour long takedown videos of anyone on youtube-
