Frog/Glenn (Chrono Trigger)

Smash Potential: Get a load of that Masamune!

Glenn was bullied as a child, being constantly protected by his bigger friend, Cyrus. When the two reached adulthood, Cyrus became the Queen's Knight, while Glenn managed to surpass even Cyrus's skill with the blade. Eventually, the Mystics, riled up by the Fiendlord, launched a war on the humans, and Cyrus and Glenn went off to find the Masamune sword, in order to defeat the Fiendlord. This did not go well for either of them, as Cyrus was slain and Glenn was turned into a frog. He continued searching for the sword, now using his new form as his name (and speaking in pseudo-Shakespearean English for some reason), but it was not he that found it, but rather a young boy and hi friends whom Frog saved from monsters. After being given the Masamune, he joined Chrono on his quest and took down Magus, the Fiendlord as well as various other nasties (though whether Frog actually takes Magus out for real is entirely up to the player).

Frog is a good dude and a powerful ally. While not quite as strong as Chrono or Ayla, he does have good attack power and decent Water magic.
