Max is a tough fighter but not a technical one, which gives Malenia the win. Scott would probably accidentally step on Flik.

The first match is tough. Rush is mostly a support character rather than doing offense. Bebop is but he's a dummy. Heck, Rush could beat him with the teleport attack and just hoping Bebop does the dumb thing of trying to tackle him but hits a wall when he teleports away. Bebop might beat the Dalek by picking him up and throwing him or shooting him with a laser rifle if the Dalek goes for Rush first. Conversely, if the Dalek goes after Bebop, he'll probably kill him (Dalek weapons are generally presented as insta-kills) and then it's a trickier battle between Rush's mobility and the Dalek's better weapons. I'm going to give the slight edge to Rush. I think he'd give up mobility for fire power, point himself at the Dalek, turn into Rush Marine and assuming he doesn't need a pilot, open fire. Of course, if he DOES need a pilot, then I'll give it to the Dalek.

A dalek is the only one of the three who has canonically taken people's lives and... OK I can't imagine any of them actually doing so, but the other two won't even make the effort.

Haven't seen the American office but I know a guy who'd fail to come out ahead in an encounter with an ant somehow.

And... pass.

okay. thinking about the other two matches:

Neither Rush nor Bebop have the requisite cleverness (individually or combined) needed to oust a Dalek. I think that's a fairly simple calculation.

Regarding Mad Max vs. Malenia, I think Max could one-shot Malenia by driving into her with a truck at 40+ MPH (I dunno if this would be in character for him), and might have a fighting chance if he managed to keep his distance and use firearms. However, I feel that if he were to miss Malenia with the truck the first time, or if she managed to close the distance, then he would be done for. Gonna have to stew on this one for a bit.

Flik is working on some plans and invades the Dunder Mifflin branch office to get some of the items he needs. He might also be joined by some of his allies. While getting the items he / they eat some of the food around the office. They are noticed by the staff who notify their boss, Michael, about the issue. Michael decides to either take it upon himself or hire the best (i.e. cheapest) exterminator that he knows/ can find in order to remove the ant(s). Flik is easily able to figure out ways to evade or outsmart the incompetent exterminator.

Michael/The exterminator keeps escalating things and damaging more of the office as this goes on. The workers confront Michael about this and he is forced to relent and contact Corporate to have them send in actually competent exterminators. By the time the skilled ones arrive Flik (and any of his partners) are long gone with the items they need. Flik might have also used this as a way to lure the grasshoppers (or some other rivals) into a trap to be disposed of by the real exterminators. Flik is deemed to be victorious in this face off. Michael is declared the loser. (But at least he fared better than the grasshoppers.)

Malenia is the obvious winner, being a supernatural powerhouse against a regular human. Max is unusually tough and could probably hold his own against a low-level magic user, but not a goddess.

A dalek is by far the most powerful of the trio. Rush could dodge the attacks for a while, but he doesn't have the kind of offensive output, or cleverness, to deal with a dalek. Bepop would have posed an interesting fight for Rush, but he's nothing against the cyborg alien death machine.

Flik would manage to find a way to defeat Michael Scott just because Flik's the peppy hero and Michael is the bumbling villain. Plus it sounds like it would be hilarious, which means it's true.

Whew! I'm back. Pro tip: never move. If your parents end up moving, see if you can live in the basement beneath the next tenants. Anyway...

Flik secures victory after Michael defeats himself.
The Dalek ex-ter-min-ates.
Malenia ensures Max stays losing.

Let's wrap up the losers' bracket, then we'll mainline the winners.

Let's aim for Tuesday, February 27.

Rush will have no reason to attack Michael Scott, but Michael will definitely find a reason to do something extremely stupid with the Rush Coil which results in either serious injury or a ring-out for himself, so Rush wins.

Meanwhile Max is pretty good at out-strategizing brainless thugs, he can find some way to disable a brutish boar with a few big guns.

Easy peasy.

I think Max is going to take some big lumps because he often does that with normal opponents but tough as Bebop is, he's not ready for how far Max will go to survive.

First match goes to Rush for so many different likely outcomes.

And I want to give the other match to Mad Max because, while he's probably physically weaker than Bebop, you can't underestimate his tenacity. And if Max beat Master-Blaster, I feel like he's capable of taking down Bebop.

I agree. Max isn't the strongest or toughest guy but I think he's strong and tough enough to survive against Bebop long enough to figure out some way to win. Bebop doesn't use his brain at all (if he even has one) and Max is used to being resourceful to survive in the post-apocalypse. Max will come up with some way to attack Bebop that Bebop would just be completely incapable of dealing with. Max wins.

Any scenario I can imagine between Rush and Michael ends very badly for Dunder-Mifflin's most inconsequential manager:

- An actual fight? Michael's running away crying as soon as he sees the metal teeth.
- A chance meeting in the park? Dude's pinned to the ground as soon as you can say pounce.
- Visiting the warehouse? Tragi-comical accident involving Rush Coil (Rush might get docked a point for OSHA non-compliance)

Rush wins regardless of what he does.

As far as Max vs. Bebop is concerned, I also agree with the burgeoning consensus. Bebop might have the brawn, but Max has enough wits to make it out alive.

good boy against bad boss:
I'm not sure what would bring these two into conflict but I can imagine Michael being really fascinated with Rush and becoming pushy and overbearing. Michael starts trying to command Rush to do things and Rush complies but maliciously. Rush springs Michael a bit too hard causing M to crash into the ceiling. Rush flies a bit too fast in Jet mode and Michael falls off (or Rush flies a bit too close to some trees and causes them to hit M). Rush takes Michael for a sub ride but "accidentally" opens the top for a little bit and waterlogs M (or he moves around really fast and causes M to get thrown around the cockpit).

After all of this Michael gets angry and storms off the field. Rush wins by default (and also because he actually did damage to Michael).

As far as Max vs. Bebop is concerned, I also agree with the burgeoning consensus. Bebop might have the brawn, but Max has enough wits to make it out alive.
True but "enough wits to deal with Bebop" is not really a high bar to clear

This one may be a foregone conclusion, but let's have it anyway. For extra credit, give your best argument for how the fight could conceivably go the other way.

RT-55J

The results of this battle are highly dependent on the venue. If Michael Scott were on his home turf of the office, he would handily lose as Bebop could just charge through all the cubicles and walls like there were nothing. On the other hand, if the fight were in a warehouse, Michael Scott would just need one lucky dodge for Bebop to crash into some shelves and have them collapse on himself.

I'm gonna need to stew on this one a bit more.

Vote pending.

But Michael is probably one of the few people who can trip over that bar.

Bebop manages to hit Michael once. The blow either knocks him right out or it's a glancing blow but Michael is so frightened that he surrenders immediately. Bebop wins but is disappointed that he couldn't take out his frustrations some more.

Extra Credit:
Michael does have a brief moment of self-awareness and recognizes that there is no possible way that he could beat Bebop in a straight up fight. Michael decides to talk to Bebop and figure out his deal. After talking for a bit he offers Bebop a job working in the Dunder-Mifflin warehouse and recommends that Bebop join an underground fight club to channel his need for combat. Bebop accepts and later joins a union which causes all sorts of trouble for Michael. So Michael wins the battle but loses the war.

After thinking about this hypothetical situation a bit more, I think the best result Michael could get out of this is a double KO. That is to say, the shelving would collapse on Bebop, but Michael wouldn't be able to get far enough away to avoid the collapse either.

Bebop has the advantage here.

These are all very tough matches to call / predict but I think I've figured something out. But I think I could easily be swayed and go the other way. But for now here are my calls.

Max and Kirby:
Max is ridiculously good at dodging things and Kirby might be at a disadvantage if he's grounded. But even if Kirby had his Warp Star I still think he would struggle to damage Max's YF-29 due to the shorter range of K's attacks. Kirby could probably inhale the bullets and missiles that Max fires but K can't do that in all directions at once so MJ might be able to sneak in some hits from the side, rear or above (/below if they're both flying). Kirby is a small target so it might be hard for Max to land hits but getting close with some missiles could bury K in debris. But burying Kirby in debris probably won't end the fight - K could probably just inhale what's burying him and free himself. Kirby is fairly tough but I don't think K could take that many near hits before he's out for the count. And even if Kirby was able to last until time was over I still think Max will be able to win on points.

canine clash:
Like, I absolutely cannot imagine Missile doing anything that would incite Droopy to violence, which I guess would lead to a time out for Round 1. Maybe after a few more timeouts the referee would get mad that no violence was happening, get on the playing field, and start shouting at the dogs. This would make Droopy mad (nobody yells at Missile), so he would do something slapstick like drag a hole underneath the ref or just hit him with a hammer. After careful consideration and thorough examination of the rulebook, the judges would rule in Droopy's favor because he got 1000 points from bonking the ref, leading to a narrow (and rare) score-based victory (before you ask, only violence increases the score).
Just like in this previous battle I have a hard time seeing Sif really want to fight Missile. And they won't be trying to settle this with a coin toss. In fact they both might just try and take a nap and the refs will try to get them to fight - which will rile up Sif and lead to him growling or snarling at the refs and they will use that to rule Sif as the winner.

Or maybe the two canines could decide that they're not intersted in continuing in this tournament and they will both jump out of bounds at the same time. And so they will both be disqualifed and out of the tournament. (The refs might try to argue that one was out before the other but some growls/snarls from Sif will make them quickly drop that discussion.)

GvG:

(For this match I'm going to assume that Goku is at city destroying levels of power instead of universe destroying. )

Goku struggled against Great Ape Vegeta so I feel like the same thing could happen here. Gojira might have trouble hitting such a small target moving as fast as Goku can but I think Goku will struggle to hurt Gojira enough to end the match. If Goku tried charging a Spirit Bomb he would probably get blasted or stomped on. Even if Goku is moving around a lot I still think Godzilla would be able to figure out the timing when Goku uses the same approach once too often. Godzilla has demonstrated that he has pretty good hand speed when he boxed King Ghidorah's heads. I think he could do the same to smack Goku out of the air (or he could time a big tail whip to do the same). I think this is the one case where Goku just isn't going to be able to power up enough to win. Godzilla is victorious.

clashing beam energy
So I think I've figured out how Goku against Domon and the God Gundam could go. As Kirin mentioned they will get into a beam clash and both of them will put ever increasing amounts of power into their beams until there is a tipping point that results in an absolutely massive explosion. Both of them will be violently thrown back by the explosion. Goku will be launched and embedded in a solid wall while the God Gundam will be pushed to the edge of the ring and Domon will just barely be able to prevent going out of bounds by the narrowest margin.

Domon and the God Gundam are declared the winner via ring out.

Goku doesn't get why he lost at first but the refs (and maybe his friends) will eventually be able to make him understand what is going on. He is disappointed but takes the news in stride.
I can also see this happening with a Kamehaha against the Atomic Breath with a similar outcome - the combatant in the massively higher weight class is the one that survives and wins. Godzilla wins.

I don't know anything about small dog so assuming he's just a small dog, then... Big Dog?

I feel like Kirby is going to beat the super robot.

I've not played the recent Link games (I own them though). Still, I feel like this is going to be a close one but as creative building stuff is, controlling all four elements and lateral thinking counts for a lot. I vote Korra.

Goku can literally destroy the Earth if he points his kamehameha in the wrong direction and can teleport. He just needs to teleport under him and blast. Goku would 100% draw it out though, making the match a lot closer but when he feels he's gotten all he can out of him, he's going to finish him... then let him go because it will be fun to fight him later. Goku wins.
