Femur. Though looking it up again it seems like the Fibia is also considered part of that joint, along with the patella (kneecap), which I incorrectly believed was a mass of cartilage rather than both (though it is for the first four years of life).

I'm going to challenge the tibia one and say that the answer we submitted is correct, Shinbone or leg is how it is used in Latin as well, the flute definition is because flutes were often made from bone. I checked two of my Latin dictionaries and did some quick Googling and feel confident shinbone, leg and flute are acceptable answers.
