Top 50 Time Travelers - Hour Gang

i started thinking about a list and arnie would've been real high on it

jack is a great pick too

Samurai Jack came out when I was younger and still thinking about a career in animation. But my exposure at the time was so limited, mainly just Disney, Looney Tunes, etc. There might be a clip of something here and there on the internet and I'm sad to say my local video store didn't stock any anime (or if they did I never found it).

Then this came out. Specifically the two scenes you highlighted which I am going to repost here because they are amazing. It made me realize there was so much more out there as I read articles about everything it was a homage to. Just a stunning show.

Wow. Thought Who was a shoo-in for the top spot. Now I'm really curious what the top spot will go to.

I had them at #4

I am not surprised they showed up, but Who didn't even occur to me as I've still never watched a show.

Now, see, this was my guess for #1. Excited to be wrong!

I absolutely adored Quantum Leap as a kid. It just felt so different from everything else that TV had to offer, and it still feels pretty singular all of these years later.

My #2. I loved this show as a kid and it was one of the few shows that my family all sat down to watch together! A fantastic premise, with great writing and actors that really brought it to life.

Same. one of the few shows my whole family could agree on.

Sadly I have never Leaped a Quantum.

I have Doctored a Who, though.

Actually, Who was one of my fandom blind spots for a long time, until my now-wife turned me on to the new series and we devoured all of it as a re-watch for her and first time for me - all of Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith in one go was quite a ride. And then we kept up with bew releases through Capaldi and Whitaker and Gatwa. The show has certainly had ups and down through the modern run, but on the whole it's now one of my all-time favorite pieces of television. Maybe someday I'll sit down with some of the older series.

Oh boy... I have a lot of entries to comment on.

I had Jack at #22.

I had McFly at #4. The first and subsequent movies do some fun things with time travel and the paradoxes that can create but don't get too in the weeds with it. The third movie shakes things up by going even farther back and remixing some of the same story beats to fit the past era. The movies all have a good mix of humor and tension (I think - my memories of the 2nd movie aren't that great).

And it’s telling that only one person who voted for the Doctor voted for a specific one.
Oh, so I was the only one who did that? I had the Fourth Doctor Who at #16 on my list. I guess I should thank PBS for playing (or maybe it was replaying) his episodes.

Speaking of here's some interesting trivia I just learned: "Tom Baker is likely the only version of the Doctor who has been screened on every PBS station that carried Doctor Who."

Who didn't even occur to me as I've still never watched a show.
Maybe this can help you catch up:

Truly, time is a flat circle.

Interesting to note both BttF and B&T got pretty decent SATAM cartoons (I should note that B&T's quality dropped hard after Reeves and Winters were replaced in the subsequent season)

I had Doc and Bill and Ted on my list. I know figuring out how to compile these is a chore so I don't blame Johnny for putting all the Bill and Ted votes together and it is most excellent to see them in the top spot. Thanks for running this, Johnny!

San Dimas High School football rules!
