Top 50 Time Travelers - Hour Gang

I finally watched Donnie Darko last year and was impressed that it survived being every millennial's favorite movie when they were 20 and is actualky very good on its own merit.

I've heard that the other film in that category (Boondock Saints) does not hold up quite so well

Stunning film. I like how the actual time travel, though pivotal, is actually barely depicted and largely absent.

I'm assuming we'll see individual characters at some point so I'll hold off on discussing any one and just say that they're a wonderful bunch of weirdos.

lol, one of my votes was basically "you'd better not count this as a vote for the whole cast or else", so Johnny's hands may have been tied, accounting-wise.

I voted for the entire cast. Johnny asked me if I wanted to have any individual votes. And I said 'nah' just the entire cast.

So, yeah he was in a rough spot.

I had most but not all of the Chrono Trigger cast at various places on my list. They are some of the most iconic and beloved video game time travelers.

Heh, I didn't want to fill my list with a bunch of characters from the same property, so I hedged my bets by voting for "[specific character] and/or the whole Chrono crew". But it looks like the specific character votes were broken up for this one.

Did vote for Loki, though. A show with wonderful style, and while it's true that for a show all about time travel a lot of it takes place in offices, it still does some fun things with the concept of how the hell do you manage timelines as ridiculously over-complicated as the ones that crop up in comics all the damn time.

Aw, I had the entire cast I was asked to change it, I did not know saying no was an option or I would have...

Apologies, I wasn't trying to railroad people but generally I was looking at the general trend and suggesting towards that to avoid redundancy. I'm doing my best to respect intent while also making sure it isn't too scattered. Frankly for these lists, if I ask "could you?" and you say "no", I know that it means enough to try to respect. That said, along with the Ninja Turtles, there is one entry for a duo where they are listed separately on one list where it just seems to make more sense to count along with the duos.

I know it's tricky and I'm trying to respect everyone while still making a list that respects the spirit of intent. In my opinion, part of it was I was asking because a lot of people had multiple characters from a series, characters who have personalities and arcs that are very separate from each other even though they happily work together as a team.

Apologies for only having one entry on Monday but it did work out to put the two Treks on the same day.

Nah, it's fine, I just assumed since you were asking that everyone else would have had theirs broken up too. I somewhat randomly picked a single character to go in the spot instead and didn't drop anyone else off my list to make this change so it ultimately didn't affect much for me.

Oh yay, glad this made it in here. Looks like I technically mis-voted for the reader/self-insert not the correct name so thanks for catching that!

I can specifically say that I read the book in 1995, because the movie A Kid in King Arthur's Court was coming out and a bunch of my friends wanted to go. My parents said it looked too stupid* and I could only go if I read the Mark Twain book first. I have to say I didn't find the book to be one of Twain's best but ever since then I've been able to see that plot/structure show up in so many other things. And that's very fun.

*and they were right because I while I was looking it up to double-check the year I saw the movie has a 5% on Rotten Tomatoes yikes

A Kid in King Arthur's Court is most notable for featuring up and comers Kate Winslet and Daniel Craig.

Oh, that's a good one! If I had thought of it I probably would have found a way to put him on my list! I really did enjoy the trilogy, even with its flaws.

Oh yeah that didn't occur to me. I remember playing a little of Sands of Time at a friend's house or something but didn't get very far. I know it's well regarded and definitely another one on the long list of games to revisit someday.

I did not vote for the entire Chrono Trigger crew. I decided to pick one of them that I thought was a good example.

I did vote for Loki. It was one of the D+ shows I really enjoyed in the stay at home era. I think that mostly was because of excellent actors doing what they do best.

Frog was not on my list, but he is probably my favorite character from Chrono Trigger.
