Sandwiches - you've probably had a few in your lifetime. But which ones are your (and our) favorites? Let's find out in the Top 50 Sandwiches Popularity Contest.

To participate DM me a list of up to 25 of your favorite sandwiches numbered like the following:
1. (your most most favorite sandwich)
...
25. (your least most favorite sandwich)

If there's anything you want to share about your picks then please place that after your final pick. Also, please bold the names or separate them by lines so it's easy to tell which of your favorite sandwiches you're talking about. Thank you in advance.

Good question.

Per the Wikipedia article on the sandwich:
"A sandwich is a dish typically consisting variously of meat, cheese, sauces, and vegetables used as a filling between slices of bread, or placed atop a slice of bread; or, more generally, any dish in which bread serves as a container or wrapper for another food type."

In addition to that a USDA manual mentions that there are foods that are "sandwich-like" and others that are "sandwich type". And even though many (or most) sandwiches are savory, sweet sandwiches do exist. All of the above are eligible for inclusion.

Now when deciding what qualifies for one of these lists the usual advice that is given in popularity contests is to listen to your heart. But in this case I think you need to seek the counsel of a different organ and follow your gut instinct.

What's the deadline?
Another good question. I don't have a firm deadline currently set since Lokii is concurrently accepting nominations for his Top 100 JRPGs and I think there's also a few small holidays happening over the next month and a half or so.

If this helps...

Thanks, Johnny.

This probably doesn't help but it is an interesting YouTube channel:

Now besides your lists I also do need one other thing from you. The gimmick for this Top 50 will be a fictional restaurant. I ran a Dome to give that restaurant a name but the dome ended in a tie with the names Cheesygoing and Crustidigitation! . What I need from you are ideas on what places (or types of places) would use each of those names. They can't use both. Feel free to discuss that here in this thread. Thanks again.

I thought I was going to have a hard time coming up with 25 of these, but as is often the case, once I started listing I ended up at like 40-50 and then had to stress over what to cut*.

(*insert sandwich pun here)

Up to 4 lists now. Please keep 'em coming. (And I still need people to weigh in on the name gimmick placement.)

Hmm... I don't know. That idea seem pretty half-baked.

list submitted.

I feel like Cheesygoing is a sandwich shop in a beach town or otherwise cozy game setting.
Maybe Crustidigitation is like a walking pub on feet like Baba Yaga's house or maybe its just a door that takes you to a pocket dimension. Maybe the cook is a wizard sort of like Merlin in sword and the stone that has animated objects doing the cooking.

Thank you for your list. To everyone else who hasn't sent in a list - submissions are still open and I want a few more lists.

That's certainly an interesting take on Crustidigitation. I was thinking Crustidigitation would be in large urban areas while Cheesygoing would be in more suburban and rural areas.
