Well that was very informative!.... for the first half and then it all became insane gibberish again.
(In answer to Zef's query, having watched the vid, all those are just parts of the wider Eternals/Celestials mythos in general Marvel history, not things from the actual movie trailers.)

Also, the destruction of Asgard was listed as a category 7 disaster, but the hurricane that wrecked that store was a Category 10.

I'm mildly disappointed? Like, this episode was a lot of fun, and I'm sure where they take the show in the future will be fun as well. But I would have watched a Loki police procedural through time and space indefinitely.

I am reminded of one very important thought I forgot to share about the first episode: Pillboi!
I noticed that as well. Maybe Category 1 is the complete destruction of the multiverse, and they get less severe as you go up in numbers. The fact that it jumped out to so many of us as an apparent mistake and a distraction still means it's kind of sloppy writing, though.
This one didn't hang together for me as well as the pilot did. The "Holding Out for a Hero" fight at the beginning felt kind of flat and awkward, and a lot of the rest of the episode seemed to lack a certain confidence as well. I guessed the twist pretty early from the fact that we never saw the Variant's face or heard their voice, although since Loki is known for shapeshifting/illusions and even genderbending in Norse mythology, I guess this could still be some form of Loki after all. That said, I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of shenanigans are going to result from dropping all those reset charges into the main timeline.
Same. It felt like the producers were like, "Well, it's Marvel. We need some kinda action, that's what we do, right?" And kinda half-assed a fight sequence. The shaky cam can only hide so much, and the bare-bones choreography felt like I was watching an old Star Trek episode instead of something that fits in with this multibillion dollar cinematic universe.

Also, since a Category 0 is shown to be “Complete destruction of time”, 7 is “Giant Monster Destroys Planet”, and 10 is “Walmart wrecked by hurricane”, it seems to me that they use a count down system.
Or else they just have numbers assigned to specific disasters, and there’s no scale at all.

I'm assuming it's still a version of Loki.
In the first episode when we see Loki’s dossier, it says Sex: Fluid
Female Loki isn’t exactly unknown in the comics. But it’s more of an alternate persona than a different person

This flowed a lot better than last week's, and I enjoyed the character work here, even if not much ended up happening in terms of the overall plot. It was even ten whole minutes shorter than the previous two. (Is there room for filler episodes in a six episode series? Guess we'll find out.)
Loki himself sure seems to have gotten a power upgrade -- he's slinging green bolts left and right, and righting that tower (or whatever it was) that was going to fall on them as they were running to the ark was some Wanda-level shit.
If Sylvie is a variant of Loki, she must be one that diverged very early on because she doesn't seem to know anything about his life, or at least pretends not to.
Some cool effects and set design on Lamentis. Visiting a random alien world on the brink of disaster at a random point in time felt very Doctor Who.

I’m both grumpy knowing that it will probably be edited out of international releases and won’t have any meaningful impact on the character on-screen and glad that they threw it in there because they’re getting away with what they can and that’s not nothing.
…still annoyed that Valkyrie didn’t get it on with a woman like Tessa Thompson wanted.
My heads in the same place; she keeps insisting on not being called “A Loki” and objects to being called a Variant, kind of implies she was here first
Also, regarding the other villain-focused Marvel series direct to streaming; MODOK really found its footing after a couple of episodes; being a kind of middle ground between Venture Brothers, Better Off Ted and Robot Chicken (mainly for the animation style).
The most recent episode revealed that the main villain is actually Hexus: The Living Corporation which is completely on brand for this show and also possibly the most obscure pick possible for a show about D-list villains.

I wasn't sure what to make of this episode, I was absolutely expecting it to last another 5-10 minutes to reveal some final gambit or turnaround or betrayal, but it just ends on this no-escape cliffhanger. It felt like an odd decision, especially in a series with a small episode count like this.
But I saw something pointed out elsewhere and now I cannot believe I missed it: Loki totally palmed one of the Infinity Stones from the TVA. Gauranteed. Specifically, a Time Stone. Just look at the way he stopped that falling tower with a rather shocking new ability that the show almost tried to gloss over. The tower wasn't just lifted back up, its time was reversed. Also, I'm pretty sure the desk where those stones were being kept was destroyed by that Hunter when she tried to apprehend Loki, and if he baited that shot on purpose then no one would know he took one. Kind of like how Sylvie was hiding in apocalypses, like if her presence can't be verified if everything is destroyed and thus fell under the TVA's notice, Loki taking a Time Stone wouldn't be noticed if their container was vaporized.
This might turn out to be bunk, but if true then this show is much more clever and sneaky than I gave it credit for, which would be absolutely on brand.

- I bet this show would have been REALLY different if COVID hadn't come along and made filming with small crews in soundstages the only game in town.
- I'd bet I'd think the idea of the most powerful force in the universe being a bunch of bored bureaucrats and a bunch of dickhead cops was more clever if I hadn't read The Screwtape Letters and watched The Good Place.
- Owen Wilson deserves to be in more things.
- It's kind of hilarious how THE BAD LADY actually sucks at her job.
- Disney has been trying to sue people for publishing things that use actual Norse Mythology because they're a fucking evil company that seeks a fucking evil destination. This is an active attack on the very idea of public domain, an attempt to make their version of something the ONLY version of it. Pirating their media is the only moral way to consume it.
- No seriously the only thing the bad lady has done in this episode so far is get owned it's hilarious.
