I kind of preferred the end of his arc in the comics; where he realizes that the Necrosword power has made him a God, and that, more than the lightning bolts and vicious beat downs, is what ultimately defeats him.
I really liked how things went down in this movie. Gorr seems to have this respect for Thor as not like the other gods, and he can see with his own eyes that he cares for the non-godly and fights for them in ways he assumes gods don't/won't. All of this started out of his desire for vengeance. So freed from the Godslayer and presented with an opportunity to make anything happen, it felt suitable to have him decide to wish for his daughter back instead and be swayed by Thor's emotional plea. As for Thor's side of things, he went on this mission to save the gods, but ended up killing way more gods than Gorr was, and he couldn't even convince the lazy assholes to save themselves. So him giving up feels about right. He's already completely lost as a person. He finds purpose in wanting to protect and defend the people he cares about, but the person he cares about most is already going to die so fuck it.

There are a lot of weird, messy implications for the greater MCU here in this film for none of the gods heeding Thor's call to arms but for the purpose of this movie, it's whatever. Also, fuck the greater MCU.

Ms. Marvel was good, very low stakes with likable characters I want to see more of. Here’s hoping Marvels doesn’t blow too much of it up.

Really enjoyed Ms Marvel.

It did kinda feel like the one potentially world-endangering threat was mandated by Marvel formula, and the end of that thread was a little anti-climactic plot-wise, but fortunately it didn't matter because the supernatural plot elements weren't really the main point there, it was the character beats, *and* it wasn't even the end of the season, getting whole 'nother episode to come back to Jersey City hijinks which were aces. I feel like this series manged to handle "street-level hero needs to have global-level tie-ins" much better than Moon Knight did.

And as much as Ms Marvel is really at her best in Jersey, I did appreciate the detour, just because it's so rare and refreshing to see a city like Karachi get the kind of loving visual and thematic treatment usually reserved for NYC or LA.

The whole ClanDestine part of the show never made much sense, but I liked everything else about it. Funny that they're using Kamala to introduce mutants to the MCU when in the comics she was used to introduce Inhumans as an alternative to mutants as an easy source of new superheroes.

My wife asked me how I liked Ms Marvel when I finished it and my reply was something along the lines of "I think I really enjoyed it apart from the superhero plot." I don't really mean getting her powers and figuring out who she is. But... you get what I mean.

On another note, saw Thor last night and ...it was exactly the kind of absurdist romp I expected and wanted.

The episode order of X-amen ‘92 on Disney + has updated so that they’re in story order instead of air-date order now.

Been hankerin’ to rewatch it so That might be the incentive I needed

Marvel Studios' Hall H panel at San Diego Comic Con just wrapped up, and it was a doozy. There's no livestream, but they laid out the entire slate for Phase 5 and teased some of Phase 6. Phases 4 through 6 have been branded The Multiverse Saga, and to my surprise Phase 4 will conclude with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever this November, making it the first Phase with no big team-up movie. But don't worry, they've got you covered there.

Movies are in bold, Disney+ series are not:

- Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 17, 2023)
- Secret Invasion (Spring 2023)
- Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023)
- Echo (Summer 2023)
- Loki season 2 (Summer 2023)
- The Marvels (July 28, 2023)
- Blade (November 3, 2023)
- Ironheart (Fall 2023)
- Agatha: Coven of Chaos (Winter 23/24)
- Daredevil: Born Again (Spring 2024)
- Captain America: New World Order (May 3, 2024)
- Thunderbolts (July 28, 2024)

- Fantastic Four (November 8, 2024)
- TBA (Fall 2024)
- TBA (Fall 2024)
- TBA (Winter 2024)
- TBA (Winter 2025)
- TBA (Spring 2025)
- TBA (Spring 2025)
- Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (May 2, 2025)
- TBA (Summer 2025)
- TBA (Summer 2025)
- Avengers: Secret Wars (November 7, 2025)

Phew, that's a lot of announcements! Wash em down with a couple trailers.

I am hype as shit for all of this.

I admit I laughed when Jen spoke straight to the camera. Curious if that’s just gonna be a jokey comic book reference or if they’ll try to do something with it.

She seemed surprised she just did that right afterward, hope this doesn't go down a 'her powers made her loopy' route.

Started Rewatching X-Men ‘92.

Nobody has ever been happier to be cast in an X-Men adaptation than Storm. Not a soul in the show is phoning it in, but not only is she not phoning it in, she’s kicking down the door while your in the bathroom to yell at you.

Everyone else is giving a 10/10 for effort but Storm has had to transition into hexidecimal

Jameela Jamil looks perfect. I cannot wait for She Hulk.

She does it again later on in the trailer. I think it's just the typical soliliquy narrative device except she's more aware of it than most characters.

I shotgunned Ms Marvel in a state of burnout like, a week ago? maybe Two?

Honestly I was extremely over the TEEN ROMANCE angle less than 5 minutes in, And the setup that she's a HUGE MARVEL FAN JUST LIKE YOU THAT'S WHY SHE BUYS ALL THE PLAYSETS AND TOYS JUST LIKE YOU YOU'LL BUY ANYTHING FUCK YOU GIVE US MORE MONEY like it was a fucking relatable aspect of the character Caused me to scream fie and damnnation until I blacked out, then woke up 18 hours later in unfamiliar alley covered in blood (Not my blood).

Other than that it was... ehhh. 5/10? The CGI never didn't look kind of terrible, which I would have been willing to forgive if they leaned way the fuck in on RUBBER LIMBS WEIRD GROSS FLESHMONSTER shit, but as we all know, they didn't. The action continually failed to make me go "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS BRUTAL!" and the plot was kind of a giant fucking mess. But on the other hand I liked the supporting cast, the representation was good and appreciated, and I always appreciate media taking the time to make one note joke characters NOT that, which happened a few times here.

So Yeah not AWFUL, but I'm not gonna remember anything about it in two months.

Also let's get in the fuckin predictions right now.

She Hulk is going to have:
  • The the brain-searing dialogue of Boston Legal.
  • Courtroom scenes that have somehow less understanding of how a legal case works than Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law (with the caveat that they will be played for drama, not comedy).
  • Zero Daredevil cameos, but SEVERAL daredevil name drops, (Someone will say "Nelson and Murdock got [whoever] off the hook which set a precedent blah blah blah").
  • CGI that's very bad...
  • ...which will be revealed 3 weeks later to be the direct result of Disney's FUCKING EVIL treatment of the guys they outsourced it to, the whole breakdown on which will be a gogdam case study on the need for VFX unionization.
  • Several nods towards potential future products that will result in nothing, but will be treated by STUFF YOU MISSED content farms as groundbreaking and mindblowing.
  • A whole bunch of STEP ON ME MOMMY fetishists disappointed at the lack of getting stepped on by mommy.
  • A bunch of brand new UNCOMFORTABLE CGI AT ME MOMMY fetishists suddenly feeling a burning need to learn how to use blender.
  • Mark Ruffalo being in it for exactly 5 scenes, three of which were shown in the trailer in their entirety.
  • Some goddamn world-ending supervillain threat that's totally at odds with the one actual neat idea of "Hey I bet all the laws you break by just doing a basic supervillainy would make for some neat Perry Mason stuff."
I reserve the right to add or remove from this list 3 weeks after the series is complete and I finally put it on for background noise on a slow day.

I can tell you that after watching three seasons of Doom Patrol, that RUBBER LIMBS WEIRD GROSS FLESHMONSTER would have looked even worse.

We can only hope that's the case.

I mean, it's pretty confirmed but that's not a big deal to me compared to the fact that the Matador and Man-Bull are in the trailer and I love the implication that between Netflix and Disney+, Daredevil ended up fighting a lot of delightfully stupid villains instead of boring normie Bullseye or just dude with glasses The Owl..

She-Hulk is fun! The CG is a little iffy in places and most of the good jokes from this episode were in the trailers, but Tatiana Maslany has a great energy and I enjoyed her banter with Bruce.

There is a post-credits scene.

Really enjoyed the first episode but I'm much more looking forward to all the stuff in the subsequent episodes now that the groundwork has been laid. As expected, Tatiana kills it.

Also appreciate that Titania just plain stumbled into the story.

Yeah I’m recalling hoping that only the first episode had a big superhero fight because, for one thing the CG isn’t really up to the task of selling it and for another, that ain’t what I come into She Hulk for

But Tatiana is doing all the heavy lifting all on her own
