That first shot sure did give me some intense vertigo! But the trailer looks amazing! It definitely looks like somewhat of a darker story with the Man-Spider stuff.

That scene with Spidey and Frank was my favorite part, hopefully he sticks around for a good part of the movie.

One of my favorite Spider-Man story formulas is Spidey caught in a gang war. This is because the villains arent directly after Spidey but he becomes a random element for both sides and Spidey doesn't really know what's exactly go8ng on but he just needs to butt in to this other story to save innocent bystanders.

It's been kinda wild to see The Discourse/memes on that trailer evolve over the last few days. Going from, "Wow! New Spider-Man! Looks great!" to, "Omg, Peter is depressed, fallen on hard times, and has no friends, WE ARE SO BACK," to, "Maybe Green Goblin was right all along."

There is so much STUFF happening in that trailer I have no fucking idea how they're going to fit it into the basic shape of "a movie".

The Disney M.O. of white washing traditionally counterculture and antifascist heroes into corporate mouthpieces is not "flabby and directionless" -- it's a calculated and malicious assault on American culture and values. Seeking to bury and erase progressive calls to action with apologia to our corporate police state.

One Last Kill sucks.

If your only requirement for a good Punisher story is that you want to see Frank kill a bunch of people then I guess this is the Special Presentation for you, but I was bored out of my mind. There's nothing here to spoil but I'll be courteous anyway.

There's a scene in Beau is Afraid (2023) where Beau walks out of his apartment building into the street, and it's just an absolute nightmare hellscape of people screaming and losing their minds and murdering each other. It's played for laughs because it's so outrageously awful. One Last Kill is just that scene, played straight, for its entire running time. I felt embarrassed watching it.

Oh shit, here comes a guy with a knife. Better kill him. Oh no now there's a guy with a gun. Kill him too. Frank look out there's a guy with an axe. Oh no now here comes another guy with a knife. I sure hope Frank can kill this guy. Phew, he did it. This is so exciting. Oh no now there's a

Oh, but look, there's a smiling little girl calmly handing Frank a flower amidst the carnage. She just watched a dozen maniacs break into her family's store and try to tear her and her parents apart, and watched Frank stab a man eighteen hundred times, but she's just smiling placidly up at him. Do you see the juxtaposition between the violence of the adult world and the innocence of youth? Do you appreciate the deep metaphhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Anyway look forward to the exciting return of Frank Castle in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, only in theaters July 31

You CAN make absolutely gripping film out of a dude just steamrolling 500 dudes (HI JOHN WICK) but it sounds like this ain't it. Thank you for biting the bullet for us Vaeran.

I didn't  dislike One Last Kill, but it was also completely unimportant in basically any way that matters to the broader MCU. Like if any of the broader context of all the chaos happening in his neighborhood meant anything at all or was part of any kind of overarching story, it could have been more interesting. Or if there was any sort of more established character arc happening with Frank Castle... his cameo in Born Again was pretty minimal and so with this story being his reintroduction it's just a bit... weird to do it that way.
