The Wario Land Appreciation Society

It's never really bothered me, since I figure I'll get back to whatever it was eventually. I've beaten the final boss and am now slowly working my way through getting the rest of the treasures and the music coins (the latter of which I've never done before), and not remembering what most recently changed has not affected my playthrough at all, because yeah, I don't keep track of all of it. I just go where the mysterious voice tells me to if I can't remember where I wanted to go next.

The thing that bothers me about Wario Land 3 is that there should be some way to indicate which levels have previously had a flash indicating something became accessible, without having to take notes. Note-taking does not belong on Game Boy games.

Man. Brother. I had reams of pages of passwords for GB games. My game boy carry case was 30% game 70% note. Don't tell me you never transferred dozens of rings from Oracle of Seasons to Oracle of Ages.

The screenshot function on the Analogue Pocket really enhanced my recent playthrough of the Oracle games, I'll say that much.

I do not understand how anyone could dislike Wario Land 3. I mean, I get the bosses can be frustrating, sure - getting hit once and having to redo not only the boss but getting back to them is super annoying. But man... It just plays so well, and is so much fun to explore. It is difficult for me to not just think "one more treasure" every time I go to shut the game off. I'm tempted to be a total weirdo and not only 100% the game, but get all the coins hidden in each level, too, which I've never done before...

Coming from 2 having so many of Wario's core moveset parceled off to be Metroidvania upgrades felt bad, and it still feels bad today.

Other than that, great game

If we can forgive Samus for not having all her abilities in her series, surely we can give Wario a pass :(

I played 3 before 2, and enjoyed finding new upgrades and stuff. I get why it has to be irritating, if you come from a game where he can do more. But aside from that, I think it makes 3 into a better, more fun game.

YMMV, and so on, if one feels that way that's fine. Just saying, I like 3, and part of that is specifically that you get new abilities.
