Mr Bean

Chief Detective

This is just weird. I mean, the costuming is on point, the supporting cast looks solid (I'm almost always on board for Antonio Bandaras chewing scenery), and it looks like it's going to be a greatest hits of the game's set-pieces, but I just can't wrap my head around Tom Holland as Nate or Mark Wahlberg as Sully. All of the Nate-isms just don't sound quite right coming out of his mouth. I dunno.

It looks like Mark Wahlberg is playing a father escorting his child to go trick or treating in a Nathan Drake costume.

In retrospect, it was an inspired choice to make the first movie a generic road trip buddy comedy which slowly morphs into a silly video game movie that the sequel escalates to pure absurdity. I’m legitimately looking forward to this.

4-So

Spicy

I love all of these Jurassic movies and no amount Crisp Rat fuckery will deter me from this one.

Thanks I hate it

I get the feeling this is the salvaged remains of the Roger Rabbit sequel that got scrapped a while back. Making one of them CG and the other one not is extremely cursed.

Kirin

Summon for hire

I mean, it looks like a bunch of extremely indulgent self-reference about the animation industry. Which would only be fun if the writing were *extremely* good, which I’m certainly not holding my breath for.

Nothing about that makes any sense.

Agreed. Maybe they spent hours arguing about whether to go with cel animation or CG, so somebody proposed doing this bizarre, Frankensteinian compromise just so everybody could go home—that’s the only way I can imagine this getting approved.

I think its a lame joke that comes at the expense of visual continuity for the film. This looks terrible.

We Hate Movies used the term IP Vomit to describe the new Space Jam. The term can also be applied to the new RR.

Hey, new Cronenberg. Back to sci-fi body horror no less.

Its weird seeing some of it in CGI, which looks off but the rest in the trailer looks like some amazing practical effects.

I feel like there are a few actors who hit big young and instead of trying to cling to super-stardom just want to do their own thing. I'm thinking Radcliffe, Elijah Wood and Robert Pattinson (despite recently Batman-ing it). I love them for it. Especially I love that Elijah Wood's thing is "I produce oddball horror movies now."
