The Top 200 Songs of the 1990s (according to Issun, no repeats)

Rage Against the Machine's first and biggest hit, #59 "Killing In the Name" is as relevant and powerful today as it was 30 years ago. Unfortunately.

Blind Melon is mostly known for the song "No Rain", and that one's great, but #58 "Change" off of that same album is an underrated gem.

Going with the obvious pick for Smashing Pumpkins with #57 "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" because it just goes that hard.

Silverchair were one of the first bands in the second wave of grunge, and thier debut album, Frogstomp, was huge in 1995 and 96. I like that one, but I consider their 1999 third album, Neon Ballroom, to be their best, and #55 Anthem for the Year 2000 rocks pretty hard even today and is still sadly relevant, maybe even moreso than it was 25 years ago.

Choosing the NJ song for this list was tough. Scream and Black or White are both great, but in the end I had to go with #53 "Stranger in Moscow". AKA the ending credits theme to Sonic 3.
