The Skyrim Thread: Because It Gets Ported to Everything

Put a little over into 40 hours into Oblivion Remaster, finished the Fighters Guild quests (boring), Mage's Guild quests (pretty neat), Arena (even more straightforward than I thought it'd be, but fun), and Thieves Guild quests (the final quest being my favorite quest in the series, which is to say the two games I've played, this and Skyrim lol), and a bunch of other quests. Have been having a blast, especially once I figured out the lockpicking mechanic (tap each tumbler up, then let it fall completely if it moves too quickly. It will change speed every time you do this, and once it moves slowly, you can keep tapping up and setting it easily. Repeat for each tumbler. I no longer break any lockpicks and do not need to save before each attempt anymore, thank the Nine).

I've only done one Oblivion Gate, and that was the one at Kvatch, I was about level 15 if I recall correctly. It looked fantastic, but there wasn't really a lot going on in there? Just a bunch of enemies and not really much loot at all. There was also a guy in a cage who told me what to do, but I couldn't figure out how to save him and have no idea if he got out when I beat it. Otherwise I took Sean Bean to his hideaway monastery place, and that's all I've done in the main quest so far. Don't know when I'll get back to that, although I think I've done all the major faction quests besides the Dark Brotherhood? I've still got plenty of quests to do that I've found, much less a couple cities I've barely talked to anyone in, meaning I'm probably missing tons of quests there...

Skyrim loads a TON faster on Switch 2 compared to the original console, so if you're looking for some portable Skyrim, I've been having a blast with it again. Seems to crash more often, though, so keep saving.

Went with the infamous stealth archer build, which I've never done before. It's... yeah, it's overpowered, like I'd heard. It's a bit rough going early on before you have decent equipment and perks (if you suck at aiming in any videogame, ever, like I do) but once you get the perk that slows down time when you zoom in, the game starts to be a cakewalk (which is what I want this time around - having played the Oblivion Remaster pretty recently, I'm curious what I'll recognize in the sequel but don't feel like playing the same old berserker I usually do). But yeah, the stealth and archer perk trees compliment each other extremely well.

Doing Thieves Guild quests at the moment, and was surprised to get the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal before even joining the guild from a different quest? When I put it on, the Thieves Guild don't even react to it, which is much different from Oblivion where it's kinda the focal point of the questline. Weird!
