Its begun. The shuffledome.
What is the shuffledome? Its a thunderdome in which you take whatever device or system for listening to music, hitting the shuffle feature (or equivalent) and selecting the first five entries. Yep, not aggregating, no cherry picking. You are stuck with those five. Then all of them are involved in a vote-off to see which is #1. Relax, don't feel the need to get defensive. Its all in good fun. Rather than fretting over which music can best represent you, you will leave it in the lap of the gods (which is also on my phone).
So yeah, take your device. Hit shuffle. Tell me those five tracks with links to them.
Show your five tracks in this thread by linking to a youtube/bandcamp/etc. Nominations end Wednesday, May 12th (it'll be a soft deadline, in that you have until I wake up in the next morning). Remember to post your nominations as a list of links, and not a list of embeds!
Q:What if I want to do more?
A: Sorry, five is plenty and depending on how many people take part, the last few might not make it. We'll see if we wind up with 32/64/more tracks to use.
Q: Is this just limited to video game music?
A:Nope, this is an all types of music dome. Plus, if your track includes a spoken word thingy... Well, we'll get to that.
Q: Is there a way to get a mulligan?
A: I'd rather you not and you are on the honor system but I'll give you a few outs. If for some reason your device or whatever also keeps an entire podcast episode and that pops up, sure. Mine has stand up segments so you can decide if you want to keep that. You can also decide if you keep what you have and move onto the next one or a complete remix. ALSO another opportunity: if one of the tracks is identical to another persons. I mean, a lot of us might have Queen or the Beatles so its not unthinkable to get doubles.
Q: What if the music is... offensive?
A: Sounds like a good reason to do a mulligan, too, if you can't stand by it. Like, I have the album Incredibad and the title track is kind of problematic.
Q: So any music.?
A: Sure... except the following previous thunderdome winners!

Q: Jeez, some of these tracks are embarrassing.
A: Not a question. I get it but try not to get to defensive and just have fun. But also don't bad mouth other choices please. Just be nice. If it loses and you have less than positive feels about one of your tracks or want to get defensive, I get it, I have some weird, dumb and silly tracks on mine I'd rather not so up. But its cool to let your tracks speak for themselves.
If I've forgotten other possibilities or issues, please let me know.
