Playing Star Ocean: Second Story R. First ever Star Ocean game I've played, despite owning the original SO2 on PSX, which I got from Babbage's way back in the Beforetime for a 20 spot.

I'm not sure what to think of it. The dialogue is still very 90s RPG, with the good and bad that entails. The combat is neat albeit, at this point, fairly easy. Battles don't last long. Good music thus far. Not impressed with private actions, where there's getting-to-know-you dialogue to increase rapport with party members; I am wholly uninterested in this kind of thing. I understand these choices affect the story and the endings but I'm more than happy to ignore them.

I'll give the game another hour or so and see if it puts on some muscle. Really just trying to kill time until Pragmata is out.
 
I’ve been kinda feeling very nostalgic for a lot of the old PopCap Games lately, are they playable on any modern systems? I know there’s individual releases on PC and Xbox from back in the day, but wondering if there’s anything playable on systems with touch screens for accessibility reasons as I deal with on and off joint pain (platforms like iPad, Switch would be good with large screens so I can use them without holding a device with a stand). Alternatively, I could play the original PC releases with my vertical mouse and that might be the best idea actually.

I miss Bejewled, Peggle, and Zuma so much.
 
Just spent a bunch of time playing Bejeweled on my iPad with a DS emulator (tried out MelonDS on both Delta and RetroArch) and it played great, thank you @Beowulf!

Kind of baffled that they aren’t just selling these on the App Store as I’d be happy to buy them all individually for a few dollars each.

I tried Indika and it definitely seems like it deserves all the attention it's gotten for "interesting dark weirdness" but I'm just not in the headspace for this kind of game.
 
Hunh. I kinda like the idea of a Final Fantasy themed little video/music device, but I definitely don't need a collection of them. Actually, this kinda just makes me want a little TV like that which I could pump MTV Rewind into and leave on whenever I'm around it.
 
I saw somewhere you could order a set, but you're not guaranteed of their uniqueness if you do. Incredibly lame, Square Enix, but also what I expect from you these days.
