Nintendo has always sucked at button mapping (I remember having to claw my hand to play NES Mega Man in 3DS) and I knew they weren't reworking their N64 games that took advantage of SD resolution to hide artifacts to look better in HD.

Disappointed? Yes, but surprised? No. Nintendo gotta Nintendo.

(that said, judging by Nintendo's record it'll surely get better. Could be tomorrow or could be two gens from now - I might give them my money then)

Buttons are probably the #1 thing Nintendo sucks at. It just gets worse with time.

I've got the N64 controller and it makes the N64 games feel so much better. There's absolutely lag in OoT, which I mainly feel when playing the ocarina. The game itself plays OK to me, but I should point out that I live in PAL land so an NTSC game will probably be quite a bit snappier and hide it a bit. The fog is the only real graphical error I've seen so far.

The Mega Drive selection is just incredible for a first set of games. Although the N64 controller doesn't work with those games because reasons. One of the buttons isn't mapped

Wait, is the N64 using PAL versions?

Got my Switch N64 controller.

Does anyone know of any links describing how to get it to work on anything other than a Switch? Hilariously, the controller will not work with Super Mario 64 in the 3D All Stars collection - no button on the controller allows Mario to punch (B is mapped to jump again). lol

Can't wait to find out what compensation Nintendo Switch Online+ Ambassadors are going to receive.

Apparently support for the N64 controller in Mario64 was patched in today.

So I don't know for sure, but that new Twitch app looks to be a progressive web app, based on the fact the Switch's built in browser menu pops up before the app goes full screen. This is a first I think?

...Pico 8 player on Switch please?

One of the indie games revealed yesterday, Sea of Stars, is a game I backed when it was on Kickstarter. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. There have been a lot of attempts at ChronoTrigger-likes in the past, will this one do the trick?

I loved The Messenger and thought that hint of history was fascinating in that game. I'd be more likely to play another platformer like it than something in the classic RPG style like this but dang this looks gorgeous.

I hadn't heard of this at all, nor did I play The Messenger, but this trailer immediately got me interested. I'll be keeping a close eye on this one!

As far as I know the game still includes lengthy quotations from Jordan Peterson (who is unironically referred to as "Jordan the Wise" which made me nauseous when I got to that point).

I seem to recall them handling it poorly/unsatisfyingly, but maybe I'm being uncharitable given that they left in a winky reference to known MRA shitbag Jordan Peterson with no apology in which they literally refer to him as "Jordan the Wise". The reference went right over my head when I played The Messenger (which I loved), since I didn't really know who he was at the time, but I guess that's kind of the point. Sneaking being awful past the censors, so to speak. It certainly suggests a certain kind of attitude being prevalent/accepted at that studio.

Edit: Ninja'd!

Ah, okay, I didn't know who that was and probably wouldn't have picked up on it if I had as I think of Jordan as a woman's name. Bummer, hoping they've improved over time and this game is better about things like that. The Messenger really was a great game and I hate it when things I love get tied to stuff like this, bah.

At least they tried to make it look like they didn’t have bad ideas. The Dragon Quest team never distanced themselves from Sugiyama for his shitty and hurtful ways, and we had to wait for him to die to be rid of him.

I know I bring up Sugiyama a lot, but it really bothered me! He should have been fired long before he died.

Ah yes, THAT'S why I never bought The Messenger. I really hope that sort of bullshit is absent in Sea of Stars, as it charms in every other way!
