So... is it just one big sandbox-y stage, like an Odyssey stage put into 3D World? Am I reading that right? Just me?

It does look like an open world. But it's hard to be sure, given the structure of the original game.

What's Shenmue?
Nintendo is starting to take down DSiWare games from the 3DS eShop. Not everything has been removed but who knows for how much longer and as someone who has a game only available via DSiWare, that's lowkey terrifying! Thankfully it hasn't been removed yet so uh, maybe check out Orion's Odyssey if you haven't? It's a pretty chill puzzle game with frankly way too much art and I'm really proud of it!
Hey, just wanted to say that I've been playing this for the past week or so and I'm really enjoying it! Adventure mode was easy enough, but Challenge mode is… well, a challenge, and an ever-so-satisfying one. You're right to be proud of this game, it's a really solid puzzler!

I don't remember if it was said, but the majority of the removed DSiWare games were restored earlier this week.

I couldn't find a games deal thread so I thought I'd point out here there's a few good deals on in the eShop right now.

Like the Contra Anniversary collection (and Castlevania too I think, but I already had it bought and couldn't see the price) for 75% off!

In a case where I clearly didn't need it but couldn't help myself, I picked up that Contra collection. Heck, I even have the carts for all the US releases, but that price point was just too tempting.

Out of all the terrible Nintendo online experiences to be had, navigating the eShop must be among the worst.

That aside, I'm torn on whether to round out the Konami collections by getting the arcade one.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like most digital storefronts for video games are just getting worse over time.
It's not you, the Sony Store keeps getting worse. The PS3 store ended up molasses, the PS4 store has (sort of) disappeared off the web and I hear the new PS5 webstore is rubbish. I really don't like the Xbox one, either.

It’s certainly down there.

Ive made it a point to just Wishlist any game I’m even slightly interested in as I find them, as that’s about the only way to get anything close to a curated list

The PS Store doesn't even let you wishlist games on PS4 (web-only), it's absolutely nuts

For me, I think it's simultaneously true that navigating the eShop is annoying and also that it's the best proprietary digital storefront I've ever used.

(Never owned an XBox, maybe things are better there.)

It’d certainly make navigation easier if they could either implement some kind of feedback system.

Or some means to just... never acknowledge those games that are on sale for 12 cents and are therefor best sellers.

Setting a minimum price is not the best way to accomplish that, I’d wager

I'm fine with Xbox's, for the most part. My only real issues are that they consider different countries "regions," and won't allow international purchases like Steam, thus making my wish list nigh useless to anyone buy myself. That, and I can't wishlist anything on the web any more for some reason.

But for Nintendo, it's just the act of trying to navigate it. It only loads a handful of games at a time, and you're constantly having to wait for them to load more, if it's even working in that regard. And on top of that (if this is an issue with others, I haven't noticed), where stuff is listed on the page seems to always change, too.

It's just annoying to go down a list, and half the time is spent waiting for it to load, and wondering if it's actually done or if there's more.

Truth. Hard pressed to call any of them reaching "good", but at least the Switch eShop loads fast. Sometimes I go back to the 3DS and WiiU eShops and it is downright torturous. Feels like using dial-up!

All digital stores are bad.

eShop is a pain to navigate but at least the games look nice and the checkout process is easy.
Xbox's is slow as molasses, and just like the new Sony store, there's too much going on. Store doesn't load and doesn't register button presses half the time in my XBOS, but the web front is functional at least
The webfront of PSN used to be goo, now it's in shambles (try to find what DLC is available for a game from its page, I dare you). The PS5 store only has barebones functionality now.

But then I remember the 3DS store and... well, let's count our blessings, I guess.
