I played 11 hours of Into the Breach in July. That’s it!

I did play more Nintendo stuff, but it was on a hacked 3DS.

Beyond that, my gaming time was taken up by Elden Ring and some iOS games.

Spent a lot of time with the PS5 in the second half of the year, but got some good Switch time in too.

Those three, plus a replay of Golf Story and Pokemon Shield, made up 99% of my Switch gaming this year. I tossed the new Pokemon game on the Christmas list, so maybe that shows up next year.

I don't know that we needed yet another Rainbow Road but these all look good.

I forgot to circle back around and take this comment back, now that I've actually played Wave 3. 3DS Rainbow Road fucking rules and makes me wish I'd played that game. Hugely fun track and I'm very glad it was included.

Animal Crossing continued to rule my life this year, with 127 motherfucking hours played. It's my zen garden, and I find myself revisiting it almost every day for at least a few minutes. However, now that I've finally completed the museum as of last week, I don't know that I'll have much more left to do in it. The end of an era.

Still loving Fire Emblem, though I've been distracted by other things for the last week or so and haven't found myself in the mood for it. I'm planning to get back on the horse soon. 48 hours played.

Mario Odyssey was a replay, motivated by my delusional belief that I was really going to get all 988273643930261 moons this time. Not even close, but I had fun with it. 17 hours.

Was wondering when we'd see another addition, feels like it's been a bit. Longer for NES and SNES though, I know it's a dead horse at this point but Mario RPG STILL isn't on there.

Golden Axe II is a game that exists. It doesn't really do anything new except a few control tweaks. It's incredibly easy, even on the highest difficulty. But the brain dead AI of the enemies is actually what makes it very fun. There are levels where you can get away with barely attacking, just baiting enemies to run and fling themselves off cliffs. Something about juggling enemies on both ends of the screen with Gilius' headbutt is just very satisfying.

Hey, don't just douse my fun right off the bat like that! In any case, it's a no-stakes prediction and I don't mind just throwing out guesses without much research outside of understanding what's officially been announced. I still think there's a chance that there'll be some mention of Engage in the Direct, at the very least, even if the specifics of what is shown is different. There's a lot of Fire Emblem characters to choose from, after all. Though all told, my predictions are pretty mild. Points for participation, at least?
