I mean, the hybrid nature of the thing is pretty clearly a major factor in its success so I'd be fucking floored if they make successor and it doesn't do what the system is literally called.
I mean, that's what people said before the reveal of the Switch Lite.

Not that I'm expecting them to change it, but... Nintendo's gotta Nintendo sometimes.

Right, but the Switch Lite was explicitly a lower-cost version of the existing thing, not The Next Switch. Like, there are also 3DS models without 3D.

Yeah, the Switch Lite is basically there as a cheaper handheld option to keep the kids buying Pokémon during this time when the handheld and console are one and the same.

I think they might talk about the new system? A Metroid Prime 2 shadow drop is also a definite possibility. Also possibly our first 3DS-to-Switch port? Still holding out hope for Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy 2.

My wild 'n spicy pick is Eternal Darkness Remastered out of nowhere.

I’m sitting here trying to manifest a Skies of Arcadia remaster with my will and vibes alone
It just got leaked pretty recently. I doubt it'll be officially announced before next year.

My 3DS port prediction has me thinking about playing Link Between Worlds on that shiny OLED screen and brother, it's a dream worth having.

BEAT posted a hilariously fake "leak" that came from, I dunno, 4chan probably, on Bluesky yesterday and I just find myself wondering why people even make such obviously fake "leaks" anymore. Like, hey, 0% chance Nintendo is doing not one, but TWO things with F-Zero. At least make the shit believable.

Also, in the realm of extremely frivolous discontent, my ONLY meeting tomorrow is during the Direct.

Oh, of course Nintendo's not going to do two things with F-Zero. Clearly they are gonna do seven things:

- F-Zero GX HD with 30 player online play
- F-Zero X Expansion Kit on NSO
- F-Zero GP Legend on NSO
- F-Zero Climax on NSO
- Zero Racers (VB) on NSO (no other VB titles will be on there at the current time)
- F-Zero 10 (Switch)
- Captain Falcon's Twister Race will be ceremonially launched into the sun

Source: trust me 😎

Prediction: Metroid Prime 4 will not appear in this Nintendo Direct presentation.
Correction: My source clarified by saying that we will not see Metroid Prime 4 in the Direct in a form we would expect. Rather, we will see the first trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Sheegoth-Septogg Farms, coming Spring 2025. Please look forward to it.

I found it in the replies to a Zelda YouTube guy who I'm pretty sure is actually insane.

So it's absolutely a quality source and I trust it fully.

F-Zero 99 is a pretty cool idea.

I had a feeling they were working a TTYD remake or port or something. The time felt right, and so it was! Very happy to see its return.

hard to get excited about this. Seeing how long Mario 35 lasted...

Well, Mario 35 was specifically for the anniversary and they were upfront about how it was a limited time thing.

japanese direct had shiren 6 and a new title from onion games (moon), "stray children". between those, splatoon automata, and saga, this one was my direct

I get the sense most people want to play AAA 3D action games. The top-selling games mostly fall into that category, for both Nintendo and other developers.

Does it seem that Nintendo's game roster is kind of imbalanced? Lots of puzzle games and light RPGs? And the action games that do exist are largely 2D or indie?

While it doesn't appear that F-Ninety-nine is going to be a time-limited release I would accept the inevitable loss if they grant us either a remake of GX or a new game with the help of RGG studio that's basically Yakuza with races
