I don't think it needs a more powerful adaptor, but I think I had a bad brick, yeah. Multiple bad ones, in fact, which is why I assumed the problem was with the system (though the bricks work with other systems, so I bwoant know). It works when I plug it into the USB port on my TV, which I did not realize my TV had!
My (possibly incorrect) understanding was that it needed a more specific type/wattage than the original MD Mini, so the same adaptor that would work with 1, or the NES/SNES Mini, wouldn't necessarily work with 2.
But what the hey it's working.
